Task Force Aegis has been called to the border. The Dahlem suit is locked in the security vault. Engineering is still investigating the power drain. The Rihan freighter, Argos II, with Annisha, Alexis, and Miana aboard, has not reported for two days. Chirakis: =/\==/\=BEGIN SIM=/\==/\= Chirakis: =/\==/\=BEGIN SIM=/\==/\= Fletcher Jackson: ::OPS::: Dacia Sandero: ::in medical:: mimipavilion: ::in medical:: Chirakis: :::CnC, at TAC::: Scott Coleridge: ::enters the CnC, feeling a deja vu, realizes it's because he does this almost every day at this time:: Chirakis: ::turns politely:: Good morning, Commander. Tarisa: @ ::Fortunately for the freighter crew, Dr. Y'shta was on board and had treated everyone of at least the less severe injuries.:: Theobald Dumont: ::waters the poinsettia under glass:: Alexis McFarland: @ ::huddled with Miana and Annisha, after being treated by Miana's doctor:: Johnson Kenyon: ::trying to determine the source of the power drain:: Tarisa: @ Miana> ::Sitting with the other girls. Her arm in a sling. She sniffles as she tries not to cry again.:: Theobald Dumont: Hm, Hm. Hm, Hm. ::takes a deep breath:: Johnson Kenyon: ::scanning the civilian quarters to determine the extent of the scan blockers: Tarisa: ::Steps onto the CnC, going to her station.:: Fletcher Jackson: ::sighs, still dealing with the Ferengi asking for a better berth, better this, better that::: Alexis McFarland: @ ::sporting a lot of bandages and a sling as well, hugs Miana to keep her warm and to not cry:: Scott Coleridge: ::glances at the latest status report:: Power drain... still. Suit is under control. Freighter missed its check-in again… wait, again? Huh. Annisha: @ :: Annisha was out for hours, and even know was only somewhat conscious of her surroundings :: Theobald Dumont: ::spraying a science lab console and wiping it down with white gloves:: Chirakis: ::looks up to Scott::: We are investigating the problem, Commander. Chirakis: I have been hailing Ens Orrak, and have had no response. Annisha: @ :: The emergency systems of the Argos II shut off power from the AQS. The crew was attempting to enable main power again, but the engineer told the captain she'd not be able to go into warp :: mimipavilion: ::going through reports:: Scott Coleridge: Display their last reported coordinates and overlay with their filed flight plan. Chirakis: Display up. ::looks to the board::: Theobald Dumont: +Tarisa+ Ma'am, should we send out a probe to scan the station for any subspace anomalies? I was just wondering if the suit or the Dahlem had any lasting effects. Annisha: Orrak> :: Her shuttle found itself between a rock and a hard place, more specifically a very dense nebula, making communication and sensors a challenge :: Scott Coleridge: Hmm. Tarisa: +Theo+ A probe might be a little much, but it would not hurt to use internal sensors. Annisha: Cayne> :: At his post scanning the skies, err, space :: Theobald Dumont: +Tarisa+ Aye I'll begin right away. mimipavilion: ::finishes up the small pile of reports she has, noting that there weren't many patients:: Hey Dacia, I'm going up to the CnC. Annisha: Orrak> :: to her pilot :: Get us out of the nebula, best speed... Theobald Dumont: ::thinks to himself:: Now where would I find the most optimal internal sensor interface without being too much of an interruption. Chirakis: Changing parameters for the shuttle. mimipavilion: ::enters the tl and orders it to the CnC:: Scott Coleridge: ::Tarisa:: Commander, what kinds of navigational hazards and other natural phenomena are in the region where we last saw the freighter? mimipavilion: ::arrives at the CnC a few moments later:: Alexis McFarland: @ ::Crawls back over to MIana and Annisha:: Ugh Theobald Dumont: ::heads out the door for the turbolift:: Fletcher Jackson: ::shifting to a request for docking that actually makes sense::: mimipavilion: ::steps on the CnC, staying out of the way:: Tarisa: ::Scans the area in question.:: There appears to be a dense nebula in that region. Annisha: @ :: The cut on her head was quite visible and for the moment largely left as it was, save for stopping the bleeding :: What happened? Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Lt Kenyon to Chief Engineer Scott Coleridge: Hmm, that's obvious enough that they wouldn't have blundered into it accidentally. Theobald Dumont: ::to himself:: Internal sensors... Internal sensors... ::taps a wall panel:: +Computer+ Where is the best place to interface with the internal sensors, in addition where there isn't too much foot traffic? Alexis McFarland: @We crashed. It's been 2 days. Scott Coleridge: They could have taken refuge in it, been chased in... but then Orrak would have reported something amiss right away, I would hope. Fletcher Jackson: ::blink::: Annisha: Nijil> :: Travel through space, for any ship, was filled with hazards, but they were filled with delays the most. He did not know the freighter captain well. Last time she was on the station she seemed to take a shine to him. Or he was imagining it :: Fletcher Jackson: ::checks his screen again...and again.... and again::: mimipavilion: ::slowly walks around the CnC:: Theobald Dumont: ::heads for Main Engineering, slowly down the corridor, deep in thought:: Annisha: Orrak> :: Travel through the nebula was slow going, and all she could do was wait while the ship pinged the station every minute :: Chirakis: :::still working to find a contact that might have promise::: Annisha: Nijil> :: He was tasked now with going over the power logs with a fine-toothed spanner :: Fletcher Jackson: ::slow turn::: Commander Coleridge, sir? Tarisa: ::Looking over that area.:: Commander, which freighter is missing? It might be easier to pinpoint. Tarisa: @ Miana> :;Sniffles.:: Theobald Dumont: ::exiting the TL near Engineering, looking for the first yellow shirt he can find:: Annisha: @ Annisha> Crashed? :: feels her head :: Ugh... on the space station? Alexis McFarland: @ ::wraps her arms around Miana:: On the...ship. Scott Coleridge: ::Tarisa:: The one with Annisha, Alexis, and Miana on it. Scott Coleridge: ::Jackson:: Yes? Fletcher Jackson: I'm getting interference on one frequency, but I can't figure out what it's from. Tarisa: ::Turns pale, stepping away from the console briefly.:: mimipavilion: ::hears the children's name:: Fletcher Jackson: And every time I try to pin it down, it bounces back to another area, then another, and.... Well, sir, I can't even pinpoint the location. But it's the same little... ping? Scott Coleridge: ::Jackson:: You think it might be some kind of signal? Theobald Dumont: ::to himself:: I don't have time for this. ::strides into Main Engineering hoping someone would take notice:: Annisha: Nijil> :: When he thought about it, he always worried... :: Annisha: @ Annisha> Are we come yet? Fletcher Jackson: It sounds like it, sir. Johnson Kenyon: Ens Tucker> ::about to exit main engineering, notices Theobald:: Can I help you? Alexis McFarland: @Where we go? Theobald Dumont: ::Kenyon:: Yes sir, where are the internal sensors, if you please. Tarisa: ::Snaps to and furiously begins working sensors.:: Annisha: Nijil> :: Nijil sat at the main table, now tilted in a position more like a large display for one person. Blueprints flashed across the display :: Fletcher Jackson: There it is again... should I put it on speaker? Johnson Kenyon: Ens Tucker> ::to Theobald:: I'm sorry. What do you need? Lieutenant Kenyon is investigating an problem with the internal sensors now Scott Coleridge: ::accesses the subspace transceiver:: Let's apply a narrow-band filter, first. Annisha: Gila> :: Minutes seemed like hours :: Scott Coleridge: OK, try it now. Fletcher Jackson: Yes, sir... on speaker. Theobald Dumont: ::Tucker:: That's interesting. I was just going to run a scan to see if there were any lasting effects in the vicinity of Aegis from the Dahlem suit we've been studying. It briefly modulated the subspace field. Tarisa: ::Realigns the sensor grid.:: Chirakis: ACTION> Every 30 seconds, a garbled signal comes from another area of space, but every signal is the same. Annisha: @ Annisha> I am sleepy... Annisha: @ Gila> Push it as fast as you can helm.. :: they nod :: Johnson Kenyon: Ens Tucker> We should talk to the Chief, but he seems to be out... We could try and reach Lieutenant Kenyon if you like? Alexis McFarland: @Hmm. Sleepy. ::Leans on Annisha:: Tarisa: Commander, permission to implement the new sensor upgrades. Annisha: @ Nijil> :: He looked over to see Kenyon and Dumont conversing :: Chirakis: ACTION> And every signal is mostly along the freighter's flight plan. Theobald Dumont: ::Tucker:: I was also concerned for Aegis considering the Dahlem ship was either in orbit or docked and it also could have affected subspace. Have you noticed anything unusual down here in Engineering? Johnson Kenyon: {{actually that's Ens Tucker and Dumont conversing)) Scott Coleridge: ::Tarisa:: Commander, are you satisfied that the upgrades are ready? Tarisa: ::Nods.:: Tarisa: :;Determined look.:: Scott Coleridge: Then it's your call. Notify engineering. Johnson Kenyon: Ens Tucker> ::to Theobald:: speak of the devil... Subcommander.... Chief would you like to talk to this officer? mimipavilion: ::listening to the conversation:: Annisha: Nijil> :: nods :: What the is matter? Scott Coleridge: Speaking of engineering... has anyone mentioned the freighter is overdue to check in to Subcommander tr'Korjata yet? Tarisa: ::Ears perk up.:: My sister also needs to be informed. Johnson Kenyon: Ens Tucker> ::steps out of the picture:: Chirakis: The situation has been compartmentalized until more information is available, Commander. Annisha: Gila> :: Her shuttle emerges from the nebula's perimeter :: Finally. ::taps :: mimipavilion: ::shrugs:: I'm not even sure Dacia has been informed Johnson Kenyon: ::scanning on deck 94, finding it shielded:: Scott Coleridge: Sensible, but someone needs to tell him soon before rumours start to spread. Tarisa: +Engineering+ Science to engineering. Prepare to initiate the new sensor upgrades. Theobald Dumont: ::Nijil:: Chief! Hello, I'm Dumont ASCI here. Our department wanted to run an internal scan for any subspace anomalies relating to the Dahlem cosmic ray suit. Scott Coleridge: Any thoughts on how we can determine if this signal is coming from the freighter, or from Orrak's shuttle? Annisha: Gila> +Aegis+ Shuttlecraft Warren to Station Aegis... Johnson Kenyon: ::hearing Tarisa's request... decides he better head up to Main Engineering:: Chirakis: ::looks up:: Annisha: Gila> Bah, what kind of delay are we on? Alexis McFarland: @ ::pets Miana:: Johnson Kenyon: ::entering TL, to computer Tarisa: @ Miana> ::Tries to calm down.:: Johnson Kenyon: ::to computer:: Main Engineering Chirakis: That was more than a random signal. :::looks to Tarisa:: Tarisa: Trying to isolate it. ::Tapping furiously.:: Fletcher Jackson: :::shifts all incoming and outgoing to another officer and focuses on the signal::: Annisha: Nijil> :: He looked about :: Johnson Kenyon: :::arriving at Main Engineering... looking for Nijil:: Scott Coleridge: +Warren+ Aegis here, we read you. Annisha: Nijil :: At main engineering's sit-table :: Johnson Kenyon: ::Noticing a new Ensign at a table with our Chief Engineer:: Theobald Dumont: ::standing at the main wall console looking for internal sensors:: Annisha: Gila> +Aegis+ Ensign Orrak here, we have lost track of the Argos II. We presumed they cloaked, but nothing after that. Do you have her? Theobald Dumont: ::tap, reject:: ::tap, reject:: Hmm... Johnson Kenyon: ((no main wall console... We have a holographic display table and a table style console)) Scott Coleridge: ::frown:: Johnson Kenyon: ::noticing Theo... to Nijil:: Did we upgrade the sensors? Science is asking us to put them online? Chirakis: ::under her breath:: Kahless... mimipavilion: ::does not like the sound of that:: Scott Coleridge: +Gila+ That's a negative, Ensign. ::clears his throat:: You *presume* they cloaked? Do you or do you not have sensor readings that show they cloaked? Tarisa: ::Frowning.:: Johnson Kenyon: ::to Theobald:: Hello... I'm Lieutenant Kenyon Theobald Dumont: I could use some help gentlemen. Johnson Kenyon: How can I help? Theobald Dumont: I'm trying to do a scan for subspace anomalies using the internal sensors, but am unfamiliar with the holographic interface. mimipavilion: ::moves toward the area, standing off to the side of Chirakis:: Dacia Sandero: ::working in medical, still unaware anything is amiss:: Johnson Kenyon: subspace anomalies inside the station? Chirakis: :::sensing Mimi next to her but focusing on the situation::: Annisha: Gila> +Aegis+ Losing their trail was consistent with the trip to Volnar. Their warp signature fell off our sensors. Johnson Kenyon: ::sits down at a console station, brings up internal sensors:: Annisha: @ Annisha> :: lies back, not feeling good :: Theobald Dumont: ::Kenyon:: we've been studying the Dahlem cosmic ray suit and during our study it came online briefly modulating the subspace field. I'm looking for any lasting effects this may have had on the station. Alexis McFarland: @ ::watches Annisha:: Hmm. ::looks concerned:: Chirakis: :::her console pings with incoming and she turns to read the message::: Annisha: Nijil to Kenyon> Inside the station...possible, not probable. Johnson Kenyon: ::Dumond:: I don't know anything about the Dahlem cosmic suit... Dahlem... you're talking about the aliens, right? Scott Coleridge: +Gila+ Ensign, you still haven't answered my question. Theobald Dumont: Yes sir. Theobald Dumont: They left us with a souvenir and for safety purposes I wanted to run a scan suggested to me by the CSCI mimipavilion: ::more focused on the conversation than the ping:: Johnson Kenyon: ::Dumond:: you want a general sweep for anomalies... that I can do... the civilian decks appear to have some interference at this time though. Chirakis: ::then blanks her screen and looks up, her thoughts spinning to so many alternatives::: Annisha: Gila> +Aegis+ We do not know. Given your question we must assume the ship did not cloak. Theobald Dumont: +Tarisa+ Ma'am I'm starting to make some progress here. I'm in Main Engineering with officers Kenyon and the CENG. Johnson Kenyon: ::running an internal sensor sweep for anomalies:: Scott Coleridge: +Gila+ No, we're going to stop making any assumptions until we have more data. To that end, I want you to transmit your complete sensor logs up to the point where you lost track of the Argos II. Then I want you to stand by for further instructions. Johnson Kenyon: I'm not sure why Science didn't run these from CnC mimipavilion: ::thinks and looks around, shaking her head:: Theobald Dumont: ::Nijil:: Commander, the suit which modulated the subspace field briefly is now locked down in Security. Annisha: Gila> +Aegis+ Transmitting now. :: doing that 'it's happening now nod' :: Scott Coleridge: ::appears to be struggling to contain temper:: Chirakis: Sensor logs incoming. Tarisa: ::Is distracted by the situation to respond. But then perks up.:: +Theo+ Understood, have they activated the upgrades? We need them right away. Chirakis: Forwarding to you, Commander. Scott Coleridge: ::Jackson:: Close the channel. Annisha: Nijil> It's not secure? Where is it now? Fletcher Jackson: Channel closed. Johnson Kenyon: ::Theobald:: I don't know anything about upgrades... that would have to be approved by Subcommander Nijil Theobald Dumont: ::Kenyon, Nijil:: Sirs, the CSCI was also wondering about the sensor upgrades if they have come online yet. Scott Coleridge: ::Mimi:: Doctor. mimipavilion: ::turns to Scott:: Yes sir. Annisha: Nijil> No time like the present... Scott Coleridge: I need you to use that bedside manner of yours and inform the parents of these children that their freighter is overdue for a check-in, and we are investigating. Johnson Kenyon: ::to Nijil:: I sure hope these 'upgrades' don't crash our sensors mimipavilion: ::nods:: of course. Annisha: Nijil> It's a matter of processing on our end, and not introducing additional noise Scott Coleridge: ::Chirakis:: While Commander Tarisa tries out her new sensors... let's you and I pore over the Warren's logs and see if there are any indications of what actually happened. I'd feel better if we at least knew if they were in trouble. Chirakis: Agreed, Commander. Theobald Dumont: ::Kenyon:: I agree with the CENG. The subspace anomalies I was looking for are really not probable. mimipavilion: ::walks over to Tarisa:: I assume your sister is still aboard, correct. Theobald Dumont: But thanks for your help. Chirakis: ::passes tactical on to LtCdr Kohlir and steps toward Scott::: Johnson Kenyon: ::Theobald:: yet, I have no problem looking... what I don't know about are these upgrades to the sensors since I was not involved... The Chief is multitasking at the moment and we will have to wait for his input Scott Coleridge: I want us to proceed as if they are in danger, because I would rather be overcautious in this situation. ::looks around at the CnC:: But let's not jump to any conclusions. It's easy to let your concerns cloud your interpretation of the evidence, and that's just as dangerous. Tarisa: ::Nods.:: She would still be in the VIP quarters at this time. mimipavilion: ::Nods:: thank you. I'll get in touch with her. Theobald Dumont: ::Kenyon:: I see, very well then. Johnson Kenyon: ::Theobald:: are these sensor upgrades for the internal sensors? Chirakis: Yes, Commander. Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\= Chirakis: =/\==/\=PAUSE SIM=/\==/\= Chirakis: 12/28/18 Chirakis: Thank you. Chirakis: I will be working on a log that will outline what has happened so we don't get off track. Our next sim will be next year. Chirakis: Commander, TBS? Scott Coleridge: Let's do an hour TBS. Scott Coleridge: Time enough to bring on the upgrades and let Ensign Orrak stew for a bit. Scott Coleridge: ::glances at the engineers:: Is an hour enough time to get the upgrades online? Johnson Kenyon: I really don't know what kind of upgrades we're talking about. Scott Coleridge: They are Dahlem-inspired refinements to the sensor array. Johnson Kenyon: a software upgrade or hardware... Ah... Dahlem inspired. Nijil tr'Korjata: Both. Johnson Kenyon: what are they supposed to improve? Hardware will take considerably more time to install. Nijil tr'Korjata: Range, sensitivity, log processing Scott Coleridge: The hardware upgrades have been done, but bringing them online is more than just flipping a switch. So you could log about that if you want. Switch over to the new processors, etc. Johnson Kenyon: An hour will give us some software improvements, but not a lot of hardware. Johnson Kenyon: gotcha Scott Coleridge: And Tarisa did put in a "rush order," so you can complain that you're rigging some things and will have to go back and refine them later. Johnson Kenyon: do we have other information on these improvements to assist? Nijil tr'Korjata: Like any software project, we run nightlies. Johnson Kenyon: you are the chief and would know about the changes to the station... if you want it up in an hour, it shall be. Scott Coleridge: As far as possible malfunctions from the new sensors, I think Tarisa and I ironed out any serious problems, but I could certainly see them causing small hiccups for you to track down here or there over the next few weeks while they get used. And who knows, maybe you'll find a way to make further improvements. Johnson Kenyon: always do....with a few glitches here and there. These sensor improvements... they are in general... not specific to one problem? Chirakis: The Dahlem left quite a few new technologies that they said "would be needed in the near future". Scott Coleridge: We used to have a station that was a horrible hodgepodge of Cardassian, Federation, and Ferengi tech. Although now I guess with the Romulan integrations, we're not strictly Federation tech on this one either. Johnson Kenyon: night all... and my apologies Chirakis Chirakis: No apologies necessary, Lieutenant. Chirakis: It's best to get things straightened out early than later. Chirakis: Crew dismissed. Be well. Be Safe. Don’t forget your towel.
