=/\= Aegis Mission Brief 1/4/19 =/\= 4 May 2388 - Stardate 2388.125 TBS is 1 hour. The time is 0900 hours (9:00 AM) Aegis local. Rihan freighter Argos II, en route to Aegis, is missing. Efforts to find the freighter are in progress. No one besides the children's families has been informed. The security detail aboard Shuttle Warren has changed from Protection to Search and Rescue. Sensor logs from Shuttle Warren are being examined for clues. Aboard Argos II, all injuries are minor and are being treated. Argos II's crew is working diligently to restore power. Johnson Kenyon: +Scott Coleridge+ We are ready, sir. Scott Coleridge: Depending on the status of the ship and its complement we'll decide from there whether we need to dispatch a more powerful vessel. Johnson Kenyon: ::looking at the sensors now:: Cdr Wyatt Cayne: Gila> Understood. I have spotted no debris on my search path. Tarisa: @ Y'shta> Several Years? ::Tilts her head slightly.:: I am Dr. Y'shta. We have many injured. Fortunately no fatalities yet. Annisha: @ I thought we could not go outside... Alexis McFarland: @I thought so too. ::sits on the bed next to Annisha:: Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Sensors are holding stable... though I'm not seeing much of an improvement Tae'Lynn Dran: I think we're looking for a ship. Tarisa: @ Miana> ::Sniffing the air, catching the scent of the old man and the doggy.:: Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> Good to meet you Dr Y'shta. And oh my goodness, I am glad you had no fatalities. Yes. Several years. Frankly, I have lost track of time. What year is this, please? Cdr Wyatt Cayne: Gila> They have not transmitted their transponder. We are prepping our medical supplies, but we only have so much. Dacia Sandero: ::tending to things in sickbay trying not to think of things too much:: Theobald Dumont: ::Dran:: Well, I hope everything is alright. Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Non real time processing? You mean in post sensor analysis? Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> Well... goodness. I don't know what to say. 2388, you say? I left Deep Space 9 for this mission in 2378, just after the new year. Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> I had no idea. Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ Yes, better forecasting. Theobald Dumont: Excellent! Do you mean to the archaeological site? Tarisa: @ Y'shta> ::Surprised look.:: How have you survived this long? Scott Coleridge: All right, let's put these sensors to use. mimipavilion: ::walks around the CnC:: Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ Roger that. I'll bring that up to see how quickly it makes a difference Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> Well, I have always been quite efficient. Did a lot of hiking and spending time in the wilderness. It was fairly easy, actually. But... 2388? ::still stunned::: Tarisa: @ Miana> ::Comes back in with the others.:: I can smell the doggy. And someone else. I hear him talking with the Doctor. Alexis McFarland: @ I hear him too. Sounds like they're outsiders. Scott Coleridge: Let's scan the volume we've demarcated, start by looking for anything obvious… like, you know, a ship… and then widen the criteria to other anomalies that might be involved. Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ This is only phase one. The other involves remote sensors working together. Tae'Lynn Dran: As soon as they reopen it up, yes. All I can read about is dusty rocks and long forgotten ruins. There's been little research on the planets biosphere. Even the farmers just focused on imported crops. Johnson Kenyon: ::bringing up the log of the recent scan... telling the computer to enhance with the new sensors upgrades. Annisha: @ :: Straining to listen :: Hmmm Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ that makes more sense. Tarisa: ::Doesn't hesitate to begin scanning.:: Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ Unless au can build a kilometer diameter dish on the station, this is the only way to do it. Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> Do you mind if I come in and sit down? Over the hills to the west it is much cooler than it is in this area of the planet, where it is quite desolate. Theobald Dumont: ::closes his eyes and can hear the previous music running through his head, becomes quite relaxed:: Chirakis: ::complete focus on the sensor readings::: Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ ::pulling away to make it more private:: How you holding up? Chirakis: ::receiving a call from Lt Garand, she steps aside and speaks quietly to her comm badge:: Deal with it, Lieutenant. Now is not the time for me to leave CnC. Johnson Kenyon: +Tarisa+ Commander, are you on the sensors? Alexis McFarland: @ Mmm, Annisha. ::tries to help her up, whilst still sitting:: Tarisa: +Kenyon+ I am. ::Focusing on the area from the Warren's logs.:: Tae'Lynn Dran: Okay. ::slight wave:: Nijil tr'Korjata: +Kenyon+ My head is running yet my body remains still. Tarisa: @ Miana> :;Helping Annisha.:: Theobald Dumont: B,bye ::steps through a door down the end of the corridor:: Johnson Kenyon: +Tarisa+ Our chief engineer informs me that this stage of the upgrade will allow improved post analysis, but is not real time Scott Coleridge: ::looking over the Argos' engine specifications, talks to himself:: If I were a ship and I dropped out of warp in... this... relative region. And my engines didn’t start... I would send out a distress call. Nijil tr'Korjata: :: Watching the secondary core tackle the sensor data :: Tarisa: @ Y'shta> ::ears flick as her attention turns to the sound she heard from the children's room.:: Excuse me. We have children, and one of them was severely injured. ::Goes to check on them.:: Scott Coleridge: [Talking to himself] But I didn't send out a distress call. Or did I? I did, but for some reason it didn't reach Aegis. My engines failed. The ship itself is fine though, so what happened next? Tarisa: +Kenyon+ Understood. Thank you. Annisha: @ Do they need help flying the ship? Alexis McFarland: @ I don't know. Johnson Kenyon: ::continues to monitor the upgrade:: Theobald Dumont: ::accesses the duty roster in astrometrics:: Tae'Lynn Dran: ::hearing something to Commander Coleridge. And it came from this area of space. ::presses a finger on the monitor::: Tarisa: ::Perks up.:: I am picking up distortions in subspace from that area. Johnson Kenyon: ::speaking to the engineers around him to pass along the word that everything is working well... good job:: Tae'Lynn Dran: ::pulling up the sensor feed.:: Tarisa: @ Y'shta> ::Checks on the children, seeing Annisha up.:: Please lay back down. Johnson Kenyon: +Nijil+ I'm glad to hear you're still with us. Is there anything we can do? Theobald Dumont: +Computer+ Display the closest 3 astronomical objects in this sector and their distance. Chirakis: ::nods toward Tarisa:: Distortions? Alexis McFarland: @ ::moves over next to Miana to allow Y'shta to treat Annisha:: Tarisa: ::Nods.:: I believe suck strong distortions could disrupt a stable warp field. Tarisa: *such Fletcher Jackson: @ Dr Brubaker> ::since the doctor left the door open, he enters, careful not to disturb anyone or anything::: Annisha: @ Can't they perform a restart!
