If you want a weird class, look for the Freedom Class, or the Polaris Class which was I believe the Reaent-B.

Both are saucer sections with Consitution necks ontop of one naccele. looks weeeeeeeird.

I voted for olympic because though its slightly cool, the whole sphere thing is just odd

as for other, here is a reasonable option

Here are some weird ones. I suspect some of them aren't canon.

::looks around at everyone:: good I am glad to see no one has voted for the Miranda class. With such a great name how can those ship be anything but beautiful.

Must not...comment...must behave self... ;) :P

I chose "Other" after checking out those pics posted by DA - what the heck is that "Hook" class ship? It looks like a Lego design gone wrong. My vote goes for Hook.

As for those "wierd" choices:

Streamrunner - THAT is a cool looking ship, and my favorite. "Wierd" possibly, but cool.

And the Olympic class? Always liked them, probably because they are usually depicted as some kind of medical or research / rescue ship (usually in the books).

I have to admit, other then the Miranda class (Must...behave..), I'm not too familiar with the other designs. That Centaur class looks seriously hopped up speed wise, but I agree, it would probably get creamed in a battle.

Gene Rodenberry didn't have all that much to say about ship design, but apparently, he did specify that warp engines come in pairs. The rule was broken a number of times in canon ships, including the infamous TNG "All Good Things" Enterprise-D, so there's no good reason that weird single-nacelle ships can't be canon. But, as far as I know, none of those particular ships from TOS era were ever shown on any TV series. The "Freedom Class" resembles a TNG version of a ship in Franz Joseph's "Star Fleet Technical Manual" (published after TOS and before TNG). It was apparently shown as a wreck at Wolf 359
