Happy Sim B-Day there Sam!! Isn't it a great feeling to have a sim anniversary?

My dates are all over, lol, and it was an interesting on-line road before finding STSF.

My actual join date is July 5, 2004. But, I lurked for a while before jumping in. Partly because I had done tabletop RPG, but not on line simming, and was a bit unsure.

And, partly because I was (at the time) spending WAY too much time with on-line Game Clanning that, in retrospect, was not worth all that personal time spent. Inter-clan *wars*, politics, too much BS, and one clan member even faked thier death and came back under another on line name. I did meet nice fellow gamers, but my exposure to the clan scene was just completely Loony Toons and left an impression that I can't shake.

I've said it before, I wish I found STSF FIRST.

November 21, 2004, marks the date that I actually started posting regularly, and my first academy was a few nights later - Monday night with BluRox and LoAmi. I had a sign over my name that flashed "Newbie".

I graduated from the Monday academy December 6, 2004, and Advanced Sim join dates are in January and March 2005 respectively.

Glad to be here. Happy simming all.

Heh.. I've been lurking around STSF before I joined it too. My first academy was on 03 May, 2003 with Blu and KBear, back when we were still using Startrek.com's chatrooms. But, I found out about STSF in March, and lurked around for two months, mainly because my computer at the time couldn't support Star Trek's Java chatrooms.

I graduated four sims later on 12 May, 2003 (by Blu and KBear), joining the Republic, Hood and Arcadia the following week (19 May, 20 May and 21 May respectively. At that time, you could still join as many sims as you wanted, after you graduate, and not just one sim like today). For my first anniversary of graduating, I joined the Talon, seven months later, the Challenger, on her maiden voyage. Over the next year, I joined the Raeant, and on 14 October, I passed my GM training and became a GM.

I forget when my first sim was, and I forget my graduation date, but I do know that Precip and I were the first two STSF graduates. I graduated 2 days after he did and I showed up for about 6 sims. Back then STSF was still putting together a schedule so a lot of sims were cancelled because there were no GMs.

The Reaent was my first assignment. I was Helm and later HOPS. On Nov. 21, 2002 I also joined the Qob-Lakota as Chief Engineer even though my rank was Ensign. Right place, right time kinda thing. I am still CENG there. Shortly after I had to leave the Reaent due to schedule conflicts.

Mar. 25, 2003 I was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

Summer 2003 I Met my first GM face to face at Shore Leave West. Fred picked me up at the Vegas airport. I held up a cardboard sign that said "Nerds" on it. This was when the infamous pictures of Fred in the coconut bra and myself smoking on the Ent-D bridge wearing my "The Dumbass Show Staring You" (a gift from Atragon) were taken. Believe it or not the GMs actually paid for my picture themselves.

Sep. 16, 2003 I was promoted to full Lieutenant.

Summer 2004 I was at Shore Leave West again. By now Precip was a GM but he was still an Ensign in my department.

July 27, 2004 I was promoted to Lieutenant Senior Grade.

Somewhere during this time I toyed with the idea of joining the new Challenger sim. At the time it was a PBEM and I couldn't keep up with all the E-mails. I was also a Marine on the USS Again-in-court with a rank of First Lieutenant but had to leave due to another schedule conflict. I may rejoin once I get my CMA.

Oct. 1, 2005 I boxed with and defeated Da'har master-trained Koralev and became the Red Star Night Club Boxing Champion. So far I have had no title defences. One was scheduled for this coming Saturday until someone looked at a calendar and realised it was New Year's Eve.

Some time October I became a SGV on the Reaent for their alternate universe plot with a rank of Major. My current position is Acting CAG while the regualr CAG is in the hospital (the character, not the player) even though one of the other pilots outranks me. Fred suggested I rejoin the Reaent sim permanently.

Nov. 22, 2005 I was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. The only way possible for me to move up any farther is to become a GM.

Well, suffice to say my first sim was last millenium... as was my first posting in an advanced sim, and my promotions all the way up to Lt.C.

Gosh, I feel old now.

Eh, I'll take you on sometime Mike.

I cant remember when my first Acad was, although I graduated on Haloween after three sims, which is the same day I joined the boards (Something told me I should probably make an account )

Unlike many of the later cadets, i joined in a time when STSF was just getting up on it's feet. I cant remember, but I believe I was either the 6th, or the 8th graduate. Probably 6th. I know theres a thread dedicated to this somewhere.

The fact that I joined STSF was actually pure chance. I was bouncing around Startrek.com, having just gotten my first computer (yes, my parents sucked) and I happend apon the chat room. I entered the general chat, which happened to be a giant flame war. At this, i found our old simming room which stated "Roleplay Startrek!" or something to that extent.

Being 14, geeky, fat and well bored out of my mind, I bounced in and ran into the USS Manticore. A9 was kind enough to show me to the site, and give me a schedule (if you could call it that then ) of the acads. Given my age, at the time I could only sim on the tuesday academy, which plays at 8 pm my time. In retrospect, my first sim was probably the next night, which "Admiral" Garnoopy graduated, and began a cloning process that cannot be either explained or stopped

While still a cadet, I decided to start viewing ships to join, and decided on the USS Reaent for several reasons. 1: The crew was rather fun, and appeared to have a good time. 2: The time and day. 3: The day I decided watch their sim, Vanroy almost let a Station crash into them

I dont remember my exact promotion dates, their listed in Travis's bio on the Reaent.

I would go on to join the Sky Harbor Aegis, USS Manticore, and Qob Lakota. Although would be forced to leave all of them due to personal and scheduling conflicts.

I think it's about a year ago now when I resigned from the Reaent with the rank of Lieutenant, having been demoted to Lt. Jg :P At this time in my life, a number of personal things were happening, which forced me to retire from STSF entirely for about 4 months.

I was doing pretty good, and having a fun time just hanging out on the boards with you guys, and actually hadn't intended to rejoin the simming world until USS Agincourt came around. I ended up with the CSCI spot, playing Jamie Kroells, Travis's son. I toyed for a while with putting in for the Second in Comand/CSEC spot, and had it happened, it would be a very different character, trust me on that. However, after talking with a certain person, Jamie was born, and Travis lives on :P

Since the launch of the Agincourt, I have stayed steady on the one sim and currently hold the rank of Lieutenant, although I have recently been thinking about joining another sim after the new year rolls in.

Now that I think about it, having been here for three years...I've never made it past the rank of Lieutenant, while Im sure some people have reached Lt. Commander twice over :P

Unfortunetly, I figured I should announce this sometime soon. At the writing of this little autobiography, my dad plans to sell the house to go live with his girlfriend down in the cities. Due to the fact that I wont be going with him, once the house sells I'll be, for a lack of a better term, homeless. I'll keep you guys up to date with what goes down, but there is a distinct possiblity in the next few months that I may indefinetly disapear.

It was a derelict Mji ship if I remember right. Maybe the Mji crashed into the station and sent a chunk of it our way but I remember taking the Reaent into a steep and fast dive (even though I was ordered to full reverse) and avoided the crash. Some debris crashed into our shields but that was it.

Outside of STSF, it was January 16th, 2005, at 8:30... In STSF, it was the Monday Academies on the week before Halloween, so I guess the 24th of October. I died both times that night.

Let's see, im coming up on two years here at STSF. I graduated from the Academy April 12th of '04 (I think). I have no idea how many Academies I took ;). I was assigned by Personnel to the Arcadia on the 17th (pretty sure), then began simming on the 21st :P

3 months and 18 days till my 2 year anniversary then! :P

My first sim was March 17th last year. First sim was that same day with Lebowski.

First time I simmed in an advanced sim was April 8th...I think I got the assignment on the 5th. Anyway that was when I joined Aegis.

I forget when I was actually promoted to Ensign but I was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade the 9th of September.

I joined on June 16th, 2005, which I believe was a Friday. My first academy sim was that Saturday (June 17th) with Joe (He made me play an engineer. ;) ). I graduated just over a week later on Sunday June 25th. (graduated in the early acad) I was assigned to Republic in mid-July and had my first advanced sim on July 18th...promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade on October 11th (a week early too, lol). I joined the alternate Reaent around Halloween when it started up at the rank of Captain (equivalent to Starfleet lieutenant). So I've been a member here for about 6 and a half months. :P

I've been here a little over a year. I started simming in October of '04, graduated early November '04, was assigned to the Reaent about a week or so later, joined Agincourt for it's launch. I don't remember the dates, although if I do some dumpster diving around the forum I might be able to come up with some approximations.

Since I hate to see a thread dwindle down I'll take the plunge...

I graduated from the Academy in December of 1994. Yes, my friends, I've been here that long, though that is young by some standards in GM-dom. I've had at least five characters make LtCdr - kinda lost count. I currently have a character who is a permanent Ensign with no desire to advance - life as a junior officer is much more fun  .

I have simmed on at least 10 ships regularly, but am on only two regularly now. I've played several different species and both genders. The most challenging character I have ever played is an EMH who was a true extension of the computer and never left the ship nor did she come close to being human. I have been on Manticore since she launched on April 27, 1998. It has been a long, eventful life for that character and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Update: Last Saturday, in a close match that resulted in a split decision and a broken jaw (mine), I defeated Kroells to retain the title.

Indeed, a close fight. Although I do ponder the fact on why all the judges were our respective female supporters, and/or people who had money on us.

My graduation was late January of '03. It must have been a wednesday academy. Dac and Atragon were the GM's. Jami was the SGV for the night. I was CSEC and accidentally let her die. And I still graduated.

I wanted to join Reaent, so I remember pestering Fred to let me join the next day, but it didn't happen. So I joined Reaent on February 2, 2003, which means that our sim in 3 weeks will be exactly my three year anniversary.

Since joining Reaent, I've been promoted all the way to First Lieutenant, and have gone from being an Assitant Medical Officer to replacing Kroells at Chief of Science.

STSF has been great and if I ever have to leave one day...It will be SUPER hard.

Happy Anniversary come February 2! Sounds like you've had a wonderful tour of duty on Reaent, and as for ever having to leave . . . well, you'll probably be one of those 80+ simmers they asked about in Ten Forward!

Great having you here!
