A city about 40 miles away from me got a Barnes & Noble, Starbucks included!

But if you're talking an authentic sidewalk Starbucks, you've got to go a little over an hour from my house.

I don't exactly live in the most happenin' place in the world. hehehe.

About a quarter block away, but there are two other coffee places that are even closer.

Closest one I'm aware of is probably a five minute drive (10-15 minute walk) away from me.

Hey, there are some parts of my town where there is a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks. I wish I was kidding.

Yeah we have that here. There's one in the Target, and right accross the road, there's one in Barnes and Noble. Heh.

The ones in Barnes & Noble stores aren't true Starbucks. They have the same ingredients and recipies but the people behind the counter are Barnes & Noble employees, not Starbucks.

A bit of trivia: The first Barnes & Noble to have a Starbucks-type thing inside was the one in downtown San Luis Obispo, CA. They opened it when I was a Cal Poly student. Sweet.

But what I am talking about is we have a Starbucks directly facing another Starbucks on the other side of the street. Both do a pretty good amount of business too.

Heh, semantics, eh?

At the B&N here (knowing this from having applied when they first opened) the Starbucks people only work in the Starbucks part of it, which is off to the side and secluded from the book store part.

And yes I've seen what you're refering to. I just think it's amusing, that Morgantown (Metro area population: ~120,000), went from no Starbucks, to three Starbucks in a period of two months.

The closest Starbucks is about 30 minutes away. However... a closer coffee shop opened up that while I was driving down the road, was so entertained by the name that I had to stop. Despite the fact that I do not drink coffee.

It's name was "Bad Ass Coffee." I about fell out of the car laughing.

I don't know how many people are familiar with the onion (I hope most of you!) but its a satire newspaper that started at University of Wisconsin-Madison. they had a headline once "New Starbucks opens in existing Starbucks' bathroom" very awesome satire, i love satire

Yeah, the Onion always has good material. The best headline was "FDA approves perscription placebo".

A placebo is that piece of sugar they give you to make you *think* you are taking medicine. Now in perscription strength!

Within a ten minute walking distance from my apartment building ... I can think of at least three off the top of my head. There's actually a coffee shop in my building but it's not Starbucks. I can't even begin to imagine how many there are in the city. There's one on my way back from volunteering that is only big enough for a counter. I was once in there with two other customers and someone had to step out because it was too crowded.

Of course, there is also the wonderfully large 24-hour Starbucks on the North side of town. Always packed no matter what time of night.

I was at a friend's house way out in the boonies where the population density is something like 8 people per square mile and they had the population to support a drive-thru Starbucks.

But anyway, here is the closest Starbucks to me.
