I can see my house from here!

27 posts in this topic

well, seeing as how it's boring winter break, I was talking with Kestra, and she showed me this awsome sight that lets you see stuff  It's basically giant map, that you can zoom into the very streets of a town.

Flash Earth

My House

(Note: It's the house directly below the non diagonal Casper Circle label. The longish one)

thats kinda scary...i didn't feel like putting my house up...but here's school. on the west side of Union street is the conservatory of music (where I live) and the long building on the east side of the street is my dorm and the window third from the right on the first floor is mine (just kidding you can't see that)

yes, but google earth does not have satellite imaging complete for all areas, especially not rural ones, if i zoom to my house, it just shows green foliage and major roads.

Neat site, but just a word of caution. Like the "How close to your neighbor" string, be careful what you post here. Some people may not be who they say they are and we dont need to see the house where you live, anyway. This should be used just for fun for your eyes only, not to post on this string. Thanks! =0]

::Is hardly ever phased by sad men from San Jose::

I have to agree with Andrea on this one. Whilst I have no problem showing you guys the top of my house, you guys sure dont have too. Besides, my dad's selling the place soon, and when he does, it sort of looks like I'll be out on the streets...

Anyways, same issue for me as Sam it the fact that I live out in the country. Infact, the picture I have up is the closest I could get. It's also a horibly out dated picture, from now earlier then 1991, with the current level of development shown. The circle and street are compeltely filled out now

I have to admit, partly I think that program is neat, but it also scares the hell out of me to think that a satellite can zero in on my home.

I won't be downloading it, even to check out other sites or places. But y'all that do, have fun, and as others have said - BE CAREFUL.

Aww, that sucks. I can't even zoom in to my home. Apparently, the satellites can't see that far North of the 49th. Oh well, looks like my identity is safe from whomever surf's here.

Just the usual friendly GM reminder to be careful about what you post on the internet about your "real" life

I don't have a real life...I made all that up...but don't worry about me...my shelter 20 stories underground isn't susceptible to fallout....

Well the Google images are not up to date and don't zoom in as much?

See this empty field in the center? Our new city hall and public library have been there for at least 2 years now.
