My opinion:

Enterprise - I would really love to get all of the DVDs for this entire show and watch them in order. I missed a lot of the first ones and just gave up watching. I hate jumping into the middle of things. I did enjoy what I saw.

TOS - I've heard over and over how this was groundbreaking. It was the original, and for that you have to give it some credit. Back in the day it was an amazing show, with amazing special effects. But that wasn't my day. I'm part of new desensitized generation that demands more. I watch TOS for a laugh now and again, but most of it is just too silly for me sit through.

TNG - I loved the Next Generation when it first came out. I never missed a show and stayed up past my bedtime in order to see it. I don't have all of the episodes memorized, but I've seen most of them multiple times. Watching it now, though, is somewhat taxing. Plots that used to enthrall me just bore me now. I grew out of it. Nevertheless, I'll always have a soft spot for Jean Luc. ::sigh::

DS9 - I could not get enough of this series. I still love it. It is the one season that I collect on DVD. I have four of them so far. I'm really trying to work my way toward the bald Sisko. I loved the plots, the characters, and the atmosphere of this one. This one is my favorite of all of them.

Voyager - I watched Voyager when it first started and couldn't stomach it. I hated (and still hate) Neelix so much that I wanted to reach through the screen to throttle him. I did enjoy a lot of the elements of Voyager - i.e. 1st female captain with her own series, Native American XO, Maquis agents, Seven of Nine, Borg encounters, a brush with Q now and then - but I stopped watching when I decided that they'd never kill off Neelix.

And sorry for those fans of the Animated Series... I've never seen it.

ROFLOL! T, we used to sit in front of the TV and cheer whenever Neelix got injured! We'd go, "Oh my God, maybe they'll kill him this time!" lol, they never did. They just toyed with us.

I don't know who is saying TAS isn't canon, because a lot of us here consider it so. I don't remember much and am looking forward to it hitting DVD.

My vote would be:

1. Voy for the best ensemble character interplay/development and cool visual effects

2. TOS for making us think beyond our little world (and Kirk was a hottie)

3. TNG for reviving Trek and giving depth to its characters and alien races.

4. DS9 for, uh, keeping Trek on the air?

Ent & TAS - I have to get on DVD to watch before I have an opinion.

You'll enjoy ENT and TAS, Captain. And if you think Kirk is a hottie, you haven't seen Archer yet.

I for one didn't mind neelix, if he did at times get annoying, i think the crew didn't mind his presence too much...he was also fairly resourceful. aaaand he cooked....lets look at priorities people

::whistles innocently, ignoring the good Dumbass:: I never minded Neelix. Although he can grate on your nerves after awhile.

I think Roddeberry declared as much at some point. I don't think it's a big deal really, but some people are really into that sort of thing.

If you like it, you watch it, you fit it in with the rest of the Trek universe. If you don't, you don't.

All right, I'm going to get shot for this post....

Deep Space 9 was great. Number 1. Possibly the most real series I've seen in a while. I give it a 10 out of 10

There's a tie for second! The Next Generation and Voyager, both with 9.1!

I have a reason for TNG's low rating.(in my opinion) I hated Troi. Too much screen time that should've been given to Geordi. Also, too many Wesley episodes. I liked Wil Wheaton though. Voyager was great. I liked Neelix. OKAY, I said it! Neelix has his moments! I love to hate him!

In third place, with 5.3 is Enterprise. I started watching Enterprise in dreaded season 4. I loved a good number of episodes, but episodes like 'Bound' and 'These Are the Voyages..' ruined it.(Don't even get me started on 'Bound') Archer's tied with Kirk as my least favorite Captain. THERE! I said that too. For me, Archer's best line was when he was doing 'Take her out, straight and steady.' That's it. Although I have to say I wanted another season to see how Vulcan did, and the Romulan war....

In last is The Original Series, with a 2.0. That's because I liked 2 out of every ten episodes I saw. Kirk was annoying, I hated the music, and the bright part of those episodes was Spock...

Yes, ENT is currently on my DVD radar, but second to ThunderCats, Season 1, Vol. 2 -I have my priorities guys.

I *know* that ENT is bashed unmercifully (usually), and people are so not fans of B & B at this point. But, I can honestly say that every week I looked forward to the show when it aired, and enjoyed it.

And again, I enjoy all the Trek series, including TAS (also on DVD radar lol). But, here's my list:

1.) TOS

2.) ENT

3.) VOY

4.) DS9

5.) TNG

Other then my TOS placement (First series and my top favorite), my choices of favorites go from the latest series to the first sequel series (ENT - TNG), backwards. I guess taking all the series together, I feel that each new series got better and better.

Has anyone noticed how much Trek stuff we have to go on? We have so many good things, and a large universe to play with - from all the information in the series', the characters, the books, it's a dang plethora of fun.

Imagine if we didn't have all the series and movies? Ya know, there was a time when fans didn't have ANY new Trek, other then TAS, and then The Motion Picture hit in 1979 and started the movies. Then, all the sequel series started in the late 80's with Next Gen.

We're pretty fortunate, as fans, I'd say.

Never say stuff like that, or diss TOS, around a veteran of the "Elite Force" Trek games. We can have our moments.

Actually - trivia - Elite Force 1 was set during VOY. Elite Force 2 was set in VOY/TNG - both games did a nice job with each respective setting, and a few Trek actors showed up here and there for voice acting.

As played out as it is I must say that TNG is my fav. I watched it growing up and have never been able to get away from it. I love the characters, although oddly enough I am not much of a Jean-Luc or Data fan. As a kid I was left to my own devices most of the time and as oppose to getting in trouble I took to watching scifi and that was the show that did it for me. In later years I even got a tattoo to hornor the inner nerd in me. Anyway as cheezy as soome of the story lines were and even tho they never developed some of the charcters like I hoped, I still love it. I think I might have been the only 9 year old with a crush on Riker. But well thats just me.

Hey all  ,At the very least the majority of you had some evolution of

Star Trek available to watch growing up,some of us had to resort to the

daily (captain midnight,spy master,superman,flash gordon,etc.,etc.) serials

to watch on tv,and read comic books/sci-fi books to enter into the world or

worlds of futuristic escape,or possibilities,..some of us really do appreciate

TOS as the base, and of course those that followed in suite,..Personally i am grateful for all that is out there today, and the chance to enjoy it.

Well, this is probably the 4th time this question has been posed to the Forum, so you have a lot of people who did not respond to your poll. I'm sure that if everyone in STSF voted, your results would be quite different.

TNG wasn't so bad but there was no point to the show, something new and weird happening every episode that had nothing to do with the previous. Plus there was very little action. But that’s just my opinion.

Hmm I disagree. TNG's first 4 seasons did indeed follow a re-run friendly isolated storyline, But they also did something at the end of season 4 that paved the way for DS9, VOY and ENT to create reoccurring plotlines.

That thing has 5 words: "The Best of Both Worlds"

For those of you who don't know, this two part episode (Wolf 359/Locutus) laid the foundation for the rest of the series, It allowed further character development, and allowed the writing staff to freely make reference to past episodes:

A prime example of this took place in TNG "Lessons" when Picard spent a good 10 minutes making reference to his flute, which he got from The Kataan Probe in TNG "The Inner Light" when talking to LtCdr Daren.

Anyway its reasons like this (plus the fact that TNG was my first trek, introduced to me by my father) that I vote for TNG....plus the physics in it are pretty dope, and make a lot of sense to the geek that I am. (I was once a physics major, before switching to criminology/psychology).

Well im not sure precisely which instance you're talking about or the "they" you are referring to, but I CAN tell you that quantum singularities are, by nature, bodies of infinite curviture that is to say their density is infinite, which is what gives them gravitic pull, usually largely restricted to its event horizon.

(BTW, just in case some of you are unaware, in the time of Star Trek, Quantum Singularities are the official names of what we refer to as Black Holes)
