I don't think there is a traditional carol that I don't know, by heart, the first verse to, though for most of them I know all three or four verses. I love the traditional carols. I look forward to the 30-45 minutes before Mass where we get to just sing all the old favorites, in two part. :-) Except for "Away in A Manger". Wow, that one is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. I could do without "Go Tell It On The Mountain" as well.

I also love, "Mary Did You Know?". "Santa Baby" always makes me smile, and "Christmas Shoes" is always a tear jerker.

Nothing like Bob and Doug MacKenzie singing their rendition of "The 12 Days of Christmas" to brighten the holidays ... Three pounds of back bacon, Two turtle necks and a beer -- in a tree.

"Santa Baby" - yes! I like that one also.

"Christmas Shoes" - beautiful song, but I can not listen to it. Whenever it came on the radio these past two weeks? Had to change stations.

#1: Seiben's reputation has been UPgraded on the Huff scale now. :P

#2: I hates them! I hates them all! Nasty wicked songses. I hates them.

Okay, some of the ones mentioned as okay actually are okay, but they're so embedded in the onslaught of DRIVEL that I just can't listen, you know? Some more to perhaps add to the okay list would be Felis Navidad. ::has fond memories of spending Christmases in the Caribbean:: ::grin:: There's also a fun CD of the Glenn Miller orchestra playing traditional Christmas tunes. Last year we tried to sneak a Charles Ives tune in at our Holiday Pops concert, and the audience still hasn't forgiven us. Cowards! But this year I enjoyed seeing our percussionist get a dirty look from the conductor for doing the whip cracks in Sleigh Ride *really* loud, lol.

And now I'm glad to see my radio returned from the Evil Alternate Universe to its regular programming! Whew.

You know huff has a point...though some of these songs are acceptable to listen to, i get really sick of Christmas music after about a week. Thus it was not fun when my room mate began playing it before thanksgiving...yeah...not cool

Definately, eh? Especially when the radio stations switch to christmas music non-stop. Its fine for a few days, but after a few weeks, it gets annoying. The stations here started in November, and one of my favourites switches to Chriostmas music non-stop, re-using their songs from previous years. Yeah, that gets annoying. :P
