Best non-trek trekboy quotes!

27 posts in this topic

I love it when I watch other programs or read something that has appearances by any of the guys and girls who were in star trek Its especially brilliant when they mock themselves so I was wondering what everyone else's favourite quotes or moments by the trek gang were. Without a doubt a special place in my heart is reserved for two of Patrick Stewart's.

From The Stonecutter's Simpson's episode

Now let's all get drunk and play ping pong"

And his disturbingly brilliant guest spot on the TV show "Extras"

http://picardpervert.ytmnd.com/

Its a lil bit lewd so I decided to post a link. Wait for the sound file, its so odd and worth it if you haven't seen the show!

So what are your favourites?

There must be a lot of mercury in the water table around London.

I remember just watching Extras thinking...

"This is not possible! Captain Picard has gone completely nuts!"

"No..."

"...Good Lord."

Hunter: You ever watch Star Trek?

Vossler: St- yeah, Star...

Hunter: Star Trek! The USS Enterprise? All right, now you remember when the Klingons were gonna blow up the Enterprise and Captain Kirk calls down to Scotty he says "Scotty, I gotta have more power-"

Vossler: He needs more, more warp speed, yeah.

Hunter: Warp speed, exactly. Now I'm Captain Kirk, you're Scotty, I need more power. I'm telling you if you do not get this radio up, a billion people are gonna die; now it's all up to you, I know it's a crappy deal but you got it, can you handle it?

Vossler: [silent]

Hunter: Scotty?

Vossler: Aye, Captain.

Col. Jack O'Neill on Stargate SG-1, episode 1969:

Interrogator: Who are you?

O'Neill: James T. Kirk

Later, O'Neill: I lied... My name's not Kirk. It's Skywalker. Luke Skywalker.

Amnor, that's one of the funniest quotes from SG-1. However, I did chuckle at the one where O'Neill wished to name what would be named the Prometheus the Enterprise.

I'm also told that Buffy the Vampire Slayer made at least one reference to Enterprise.

My favorite SG-1 quote actually took place in the Season Six Eppisode "Unnatural Selection"

O'Neill>::hangs up phoney comm thing with a disapointed look on his face::

Carter> What is it sir?

O'Neill> They didn't go with my suggestion for the ship name.

Carter> Sir, we cant name the X-302 the Enterprise!

lol, the thought of that eppisode always makes me laugh. I can picture that guy, a couple years down the line seeing Star Wars...lol

My favorite line from 1969 though is...

MP>::Says something to SG-1 in Russian::

Daniel> Niet.

Jack> What'd he say?

Daniel> He asked if we were Russian spies.

Jack>::Gives Daniel a 'Duh!' look::

Daniel> Ooh...

Yep. Willow had looked into the clubhouse some guys had and she later said that the walls were covered with pictures of "that Vulcan lady from Enterprise".

But sticking to the idea of trekboys quotes from other stuff Colm Meaney (aka Chief O'Brian) in "Layer Cake" was fantastic.

A pair of hoods are looking into a freezer at a dead body

Colm Meaney: The only reason you're not in there is cos I like ya.

Well its not really star trek, but I do love this quote

I'm not even supposed to be here. I'm just "Crewman Number Six." I'm expendable. I'm the guy in the episode who dies to prove how serious the situation is. I've gotta get outta here.

or

[the crew is on a shuttle descending to an alien planet]

Guy Fleegman: I changed my mind. I wanna go back.

Sir Alexander Dane: After the fuss you made about getting left behind?

Guy Fleegman: Yeah, but that's when I thought I was the crewman that stays on the ship, and something is up there, and it kills me. But now I'm thinking I'm the guy who gets killed by some monster five minutes after we land on the planet.

Jason Nesmith: You're not gonna die on the planet, Guy.

Guy Fleegman: I'm not? Then what's my last name?

Jason Nesmith: It's, uh, uh - -I don't know.

Guy Fleegman: Nobody knows. Do you know why? Because my character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in.

Gwen DeMarco: Guy, you have a last name.

Guy Fleegman: DO I? DO I? For all you know, I'm "Crewman Number Six".

heck in the end I love everything about Galexy Quest

The BEST action-comedy-science fiction film made as a tribute to Trek but still does very well as a stand alone movie.

So many good quotes in Galaxy Quest!

From ET: The Extra Terrestrial:

Elliots Older Brother: "Cant he just Beam Up? (with regards to ET)

Elliot: This is reality!

Actually, Denzel Washington's character didn't say "crappy".

This was from the movie "Crimson Tide", and has the same theme music as the Reaent website.

From the Simpsons, "Marge vs. the Monorail"

Quimby: And now, I'd like to turn things over to our Grand Marshall,

Mr. Leonard Nimoy.

Nimoy: I'd say this vessel could do at least Warp Five.

[appreciative laughter from the crowd]

Quimby: And let me say, ``May the Force Be With You!''

Nimoy: [annoyed] Do you even know who I am?

Quimby: [indignant] I think I do. Weren't you one of the Little Rascals?

That was a classic episode even without the Nimoy parts.

When Las Vegas got it's monorail (and several STSFers were among the first riders by the way) Star Trek: The Experience painted the side of one to advertise the Borg 4-D ride. Startrek.com did a feature on it and even made reference to the Simpsons episode, but at no time did st.com even mention anything Trek-related about the episode. B)
