Isn't that a wierd feeling. Many years ago, I started my first advanced sim on the same night as another player. It turns out we both lived in the Chicago area. Finally, after several months of wondering if we'd passed each other on the street, she invited me to a concert in which she was singing. When she sent me the flyer, I discovered that she was performing with someone else I had known for years. So we actually had a mutual reference before we met in person.

 

A few months later, one of the guys on the ship was coming through town on business. She had arranged to meet him, and at the last minute came to her senses and invited me along. This way, she didn't have to meet him alone.

 

A few months after that, one more crew member came to town. We went to meet her and discovered that the brought her mother-in-law with her. MIL was a good sport, listening to us spout Trek-babble all night, but it was a smart thing to do. Neither one of them had any idea what type of wierdo's we were going to turn out to be.

 

No matter how friendly and honest we all seem online, please be cautious if this thread starts getting you into "let's meet" conversations. Use the same precautions that you'd use meeting any kind of stranger. Tell people where you're going, meet in a public place, and bring a friend or two along.

 

Believe it or not, not everyone is as they represent themselves around here.

I live about 60 miles west of the Twin Cities in a town called (formally) Norwood-Young America. Back in about '99 or so the two towns merged and such.

 

I believe that the closest simmer to me is Ridire/Ayers, however if there are any other MN simmers, or close by, dont be afraid to shout out! B)

@ Seiben. I live in Kingsville (southernmost town in all of Canada) which is about 40 minutes from Windsor/Detroit and the Canada-US border. Then again, it's still a 4-5 hour drive to Toronto. B)

 

I'd say Tovan and Seiben are my closest neighbours (unless you live in Detroit or so). However, since Ohno told me he recently moved to Michigan, he might be the closest to me.

I'm in the middle of Connecticut, easy driving distance to some STSFers in MA and fairly close to some STSFers in NYC. (There's a lot of us on the East coast).

 

Without revealing anything that isn't already common knowledge, I've had to pry Blurox out of my wine cellar more than once.

Ironically the most central location for those pinpointing themselves so far is the headquarters of Superior Turf-Sod Farm.
