Because the transporters were off-line, of course.

Because if the chicken had remained..it would have been served up battered

and fried with vegetables...on a plate and eaten... B)

That's OK, because logging about chickens got me hungry for buffalo wings. In my next sim I captured a winged buffalo. Got a promition for it too.

Because and it's obvious the shuttle was broken and the chicken was not important enough for the transporter
