Bumps in the road

Subject: Bumps in the road

From: LtJgKitKat

Kit and Rocks walked down the corridors of the Marigold, each heading to their different places.

Rocks had been searching the Marigold for quite some time trying to find Kit.  He finally found her wondering the decks.  He increased his pace to join her.  He hugged her from behind trying to surprise her.

Kit smiled as she felt Rocks' arms around her.  "Hello a'rhea," she said without turning around.

Rocks walked to her side.  "I've been looking for you every where.  I'm glad I found you, E'lev."  Rocks walked along side Kit and wondered where she's been.

"So Kit, I've been researching bonding in our computer core.  I found that most Vulcans bond when they're seven.  I was just wondering if you had a bondmate."  Rocks was interested to know if there was someone else in Kit's life.

Kit raised an eyebrow at Rocks.  Where had this question come from? "Of course not."

Rocks shruged off-handedly.  "Just wondering.  You would tell me, wouldn't you?"

    "Of course."

Rocks had this gnawing doubt.  "Are you sure?"

Kit's eyebrow went higher.  "Yes.  I have never lied about anything like that."

"You are telling me the truth, right?"

Kit stared frustratedly at Rocks.  Then, as if by instinct, her hand struck him across the face.  She glared at him, then started down the corridor at a quick pace.

Rocks stared after her.  He wasn't sure what he had done, but it sure had made Kit mad.

Just then, Savvik rounded the corner.  As Rocks turned to face him, the Ensign stopped dead in his tracks.  "What happened to you? Girlfriend problems?"

Rocks looked after Kit and nodded absently.  "You have no idea Savvik, no idea at all."  Rocks headed back to his quarters.
