LT Acrops Log 9704.10

"Lone Walk"

Acrop looked into the sky, shivering.  As he tended to be a lot lately, he was confused.  He didn't understand why things happened they way they did.  Why those "mites" had to get on, why the ship was destroyed, why now there is an other ship in the sector and we have but the defenses of a craft.  And above all, why was there so much tension among the crew, no one seemed to be working efficiently, at a time when it was needed most.  It wasn't those things that destroyed the Republic....it was the people

who roamed its halls.  Each and every department was not at top efficiency, and at the wrong time.  And worse of all, it had nothing to do with anything specific situation or occurrence or lack of skills.  Something just didn't feel right, and if no one else did, Acrop knew it.

Or maybe it was just the emotions of his little tiff with TKai that got Acrop thinking this way.  Acrop just believed the needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few and we couldn't afford to spend time not doing our job.  At the least, he wanted orders so he could get to work.  Granted, Acrop never experienced love, that was true.  He did not know what it meant to care for someone like yourself.  But still, he was upset.  Acrop was smart enough to know that now wasn't the time tog et into it

further, nor would it ever be the time.  TKai was a good man, and slowly but surely becoming a friend.  Acrop wasn't going to damage that, he had but a few.

Acrop looked outside the craft and saw the link up.  He thought about the hundreds of people waiting for something to happen.  Anything.  Lack of control is bar none the worst feeling a person can experience and multiplied by hundreds, it was sickening.

A lot of things were sickening at this point and Acrop was preoccupied because of them.  Apparently his thoughts were not coming out clear because of that, but Acrop was the kind who loved to explore himself, and thats why he had these little mental conversations analyzing things.

What steps could possibly be taken to ensure that the next ship would not begin as the last ended?  There were no answers.  Well maybe answers, just no means to achieving that end.  Each and every crew member had to get revitalized and reinterested in their work and remember why they graduated the Academy in the first place.  Remember those years of classes and promise.  What an innocent time that was.  There was a trust and respect and unity that was unparalleled.  Maybe there was no way to artificially

get back to that.  Maybe it was a natural cycle, maybe just a down hill progression.  No one knew but they would all find out.  And if Acrop knew anything, he knew that each and every person aboard would do their best to solve our problems.  Maybe that was the answer.  They say when the going get tough, the tough get going.

Acrop just wondered one thing.  Was he tough?
