Only Time WIll Tell

"Only Time Will Tell"

Lieutenant j.g. T'Parek

Personal Log

November 09, 2155

T'Parek, daughter of the House of Sartrav, leaned back from her computer console and inwardly sighed with relief. It seemed as if they might have a spark of hope for removing the 'Omega' molecule from the Challenger's transporter buffer -- without destroying the quadrant.

"Weight of the universe," she muttered.

Her over-exhausted consciousness wandered, bringing to mind her earlier actions on the Achilles bridge. Destroying consoles in attempt to dispower a malevolent entity was one thing; taking pleasure. even in the slightest degree, was another.

She mentally chided herself. Had being in the company of humans corrupted her logic and stoicism that highly? That would most certainly not do.

In her mind, she began reviewing the ancient Surakian disciplines of the suppression of emotion. No, she had not forgotten them along with some of the other bits of information that had seemed to have escaped her memory since that mysterious memory incident.

For a moment, she pondered another bit of trivia that perplexed her. If Vulcans had only embraced logic in the past few millennia, how did they possibly survive until then? It seemed to her that inside each member of her species, there was an unquenchable volcano that constantly had to be smothered. But how did her ancestors live before Surak and his world-changing ideas? Only time knew...

Her thoughts returned to the present. And would they succeed in their quest to destroy the omega molecule? Only time knew that, too...
