"First Time for Everything"

Only a year ago, Javin was a lowly engineer, just about to be made a shift leader on the USS Journey. Looking around now, he beamed with accomplishment. Sitting in the command chair as the XO of the Tertiary section of the USS Agincourt, model ship of the new Alliance, was a BIG step up from his small bank of monitors in an empty corner of the Journey's engineering deck. He'd never expected to be made a Chief Engineer, and certainly never to be sitting in command.

 

He looked over the PADD that one of the engineering crewmen handed him. The full details of the Primary/Secondary reconnect. He was puzzled by the failure of dorsal clamp 7, the clamps had never given them any problems during their MVAM drills. It was possible it had something to do with the rather large hole in the side of the secondary section. In any case, he was sure that his right-hand man Murray would be able to deal with the problems. For now, he would enjoy his time in the command chair, keeping an ever-watchful eye over the Vaicitu and the other two sections of the Agincourt.
