Hi there Spock! Welcome to STSF. I supose that I have the honorable duty of giving you the grand tour.

 

First off, too answer your questions, heres the link to our FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions You may also want to check this page if you haven't already. It's a basic guide to simming on our forum. How To I would also highly suggest finding the Tips from Moose sticky on this forum. He's kinda old, but he know's what he's talking about. Also, don't afraid to ask questions! Thats what this entire section of the boards is for :D I know I'm not the best tour guide, so I'll let the next person up take a swing at it :lol:

 

Oh, and per your questions about ranking, while every sim is different, alot follow a basic structure of the following. Note: The ones in parenthesis aren't on every ship. I know that the Sky Harbor Aegis uses Midshipmen, and the Qob Lakota uses Lieutenant Senior Grade ranking. Again, each ship is different, as is their ranking system.

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here. Only thing you need to watch out for is the T'Venus SFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

 

Check out the Moose Tips, Help, and Rules sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

 

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!
