Grammar!

After * sends a private message titled $ to #, the messenger gives an acknowledgement:

Thanks *, your message $ has been sent to #. They will now be informed that they have a new message.

Wouldn't "he will now be informed that he has a new message" be correct, because "they" is plural?  (And, yes, "he" is the neutral/undefined gender in this case!)

You are correct, unless of course, the message has multiple recipients, then *they* would be correct.  However, I think making the grammatical distinction would be rather difficult ::looks to Randy::

Now ... how about we work on some of the spelling errors?   ::D:

Well...  I could put into place a set of code to look at the recipients, define a variable with two different possibilities, then determine if the PM was sent to one person or to multiple people.  Then based off of the feedback, have it return a different value for the variable.

It would just take a bit of time to do all of it and test it to make sure it works on various platforms and systems.  The logic itself behind it is not too complicated, but remember...  with computers, you have to spell out each and everything it has to do, taking into consideration each and every possibility the system might encounter.

And what spelling errors?  I'll make a list and start working on them someday when I get bored.  lol

.....if you do, you have too much time on your hands! And I don't think you do, Mr Webmaster!
