What does the animated icon next to the last post name on the FAQs posts mean?

You mean the one that appears by topics created and/or updated that day?

 

It means "Hey!  Loami!  There is a new post here!  Read it!"

Yep.  Just one more way to help make your life easier.  When you browse a forum, you'll know quickly what posts are new since your last visit.  

 

They remember what posts are new since your last visit (a visit session is reset after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity.)

I had the same question Loami... I couldn't figure out what the flashy thing was either. That "New Post" button was just so nice!   :D

That is what I use the majority of the time as well personally.  

 

But as someone who earns part of his living actually setting up these kinds of boards for other groups, I know not everyone uses them.  So I thought it would help to make sure they are a little more noticeable, at least here.  :D :D
