So yeah, I got bored, and decided to bring it up. And since I don't see it any wear else I'm making this the defacto discusion for the next-next generation consoles.

That being said, I sorely hope we wont have any fan-boys ruining for us. Yes, I know you think Gamecube is Gamegay but please keep your mouth shut, for the good of a actual discussion that probably intrests a number of simmers.

That being said, back when I was little, video games ammounted to a blue hedgehog running to the right, jumping over things, my how far we've come <_< I was about 9 when the N64 came out, and it turned me into a Nintendo Fanboy. PS2 came around, and I waited, knowing it'd suck compared to Nintendo. Well, 2001 comes 'round, and I get my Gamecube.

I'm not dissapointed, I got Super Smash Bros. Melee, and it's still my favorite game of this generation. (::murdered by Halo fanboys::D Well, march rolls along, and I get confirmed, and get oodles of money. Yes, I just said oodles. Well, seeing as how I protested my entire confirmation process on account of me not believing in god (an entirely other story) I decided to show my family whats what by buying and Xbox with the confirmation money (my one aunt still wont talk to me.) I got it and I was like..."Damn!" Slowly and slowly my Xbox got played more, then the library became larger. Now my Xbox library is a 2:1 ratio of my Gamecube, and the Nintendo system hasn't been touched in months. This isn't anything against Nintendo, but a lesson to show you that just cause the system is made by a certain company, doesn't mean its going to suck. Case in point, I bought a used PS2 this christmas for MGS3, and I enjoy it alot, and I still play Ace Combat a whole lot.

Now, onto the main subject, what do you think will turn around this time? I honestly cant say who I think will win, cause I dont know! PS3 is boasting superior power this time around, and it already has a large fanbase. Not to mention the backwards compatibility. If you've been with Sony since the beginging, you now have like...an ungodly amount of games to play B). I think Microsoft will do a lot better this time around. It proved itself with this generation, and the Halo franchise brought in plenty of gamers. I think with the first release, gamers looking to the future my find a place with Xbox 360. The screens that I've seen on it haven't been too impressive, but I'm not about to go slamming an unreleased product.

I think the big loser of this will be Nintendo. I think that being on top in the early 90's warped the company. They used to be able to bend people to their will, but not so much anymore. The comment still burns me when a Nintendo Exec quoted "People do not want online gamming" I believe SOCOM and Xbox Live speak for that. I just dont think Nintendo is going to be able to produce what people want anymore. Sure, I love playing Mario and stuff every once in a while, but I also like to shoot things too. Nintendo refused to believe that selling games like GTA will help them. Sure, it isn't a very moral thing to do, but morality never saved a business. On top of that, we know nothing of the "Revolution" I can understand a want to keep things secret, but when your looking at a kid ready to spent 400 bucks on a 360, do you honestly expect him to listen when they say "Trust us, it's gonna be really good...honestly" No self respecting person is gonna wait on that, which is essentially what Nintendo is giving us.

The whole downloadable ROM thins burns me too. For those of you that hadn't heard, Nintendo is boasting that the Revolution will be able to play every game ever made on a Nintendo Console through downloadable ROMs or something. This just doesn't sit well with me. All I see it as is a marketing ploy to buy everygame you already have... And plus, god knows what else people could end up putting on those ROMs....I can just picture illegal downloads for the thing already. And anyone that's played a Halo 2 Team Slayer game knows the problem of Hackers...

Anyways, after spealing, I think I have my picks...

1. PS3 (Just bearly, because of the better graphics, and large fanbase)

2. Xbox 360 (Right behind, will continue to gain momentum into the next-next-next generation.)

3. "Revolution" (By the time we finally find something out about this thing, people will be saying Revo-I dont care anymore.)

Oh, I thought I'd post some screens from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (3/4 of the reason I'm buying a PS3 and an Xbox 360) for drool effect. If anyone else has some sweet looking screens of up coming games, post them and let us gawk.

Ahh IMHO, the PS-3 will continue Sony's domination of the video game console market. I've been hearing alot of good things about the Play Station 3.

Which one will I get first? Xbox 360 (hopefully). Do I plan on buying PS3? Hell yes. What's my opinion on the Nintendo Revolution? Nintendo has been a disappointment the past few years, I'm not sure if they can pull it off now with all the people disappointed in them. I saw their new innovative controller....my friends and I all laughed at that.

Anyways, I say Xbox 360 and PS3 will be dominant, PS3 will most likely have more sales but nowadays a lot of people have both PS2 and Xbox.

On paper the PS3 blows the X-box 360 out of the water. Using the same disc reading device the 360 can hardly be called next gen. By waiting a year th eprice of th enew BlueRay reading device and dics will make the ps3 the best consol ever.

I dont honestly see how the Blu-Ray will make 360 obsolete. All it is a different format, PS3 discs will just be able to hold more data.

I voted, PS3, but now onto the gamer spiel! All around gamer here.

I am a gamer from the Atari 2600 days when an * Adventure * consisted of a square, attached to an arrow, and you move the square to kill a dragon that looks suspiciously like a seahorse. Oh yes, and that little yellow dude that munched on pellets.

Enter the original Nintendo. Trojan, Rush 'N Attack, and Super Mario Bros. Good times.

Then a period of non-gaming, dealing with that whole High School and College thing. Just got away from 'em for a bit.

1997. I purchase a Playstation. Still have it. Bought the Playstation 2. Still have it. Lots of good titles. In a way, my loyalties are with the Playstation.

Couple years ago, I entered PC gaming.

Recently, I entered X land with a purchase of the X Box. I am liking how things are going. Lots of titles already out to pick from, I am bargain bin diving, and On-Line for a game called Darkwatch is fun.

Will I purchase the 360? Not anytime soon. I will wait anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half or even 2 years before purchasing the 360. See how it does, any recalls due to problems, that sort of thing. I may also turn around and bypass the 360 completely for the PS3. Regardless, both of the new consoles can really wait for now, I dont need to be *the first* or even the second to get 'em.

Nintendo is out. My Nintendo days stopped back in the early 90's. The company just does not seem to offer the sort of games I am into. (Translation: Kansas' Player likes to shoot stuff also. LOL!)

As for who will dominate the market? Hard to say, I have no idea. I have both PS2 and recently the X Box, yet I have been a Playstation gamer since 1997. Both offer good gameplay. But, 360 will be first out of the starting gate with this holiday season. That can be good or bad, may work in favor, may not. Playstation can sit back, bide time, and see how the 360 does.

Either way, the gaming industry is dominated by both PS and X Box. Nintendo is there, but doesnt seem to enjoy the success it once had. Or Nintendo may have a comeback.

Its all a qrap shoot at this point. I have no idea. Rofl - Just give me stuff to shoot.

Kansas>^..^<
