A Dark Aftermath part 1

Subject: a Dark Aftermath part 1

Date: Thu, Jan 30, 1997 5:58 PM

From: Ens1flip

As the red alert klaxxons revertibrated through sick bay, Ensign Flip felt an icy knot building up in his stomach. Today he was left in charge of Sickbay, he was to coordinate the rest of the staff during this operation, Something I always dreamed of, he thought. So why did he feel like this?

Let the training take over, he thought to himself, this will be a cinch. He has been part of numerous trauma teams an has seen the brutality of conflict up close before, but for some reason now was different. He was the most senoir staff in the room , he was in charge, they would come to him for direction. All those lives, all in his hands.

He found himself starring at his hands.

" Okay guys, I want five trauma teams set up, I will lead the main Triage team, I want biobeds 1 to 15 preped, I want the stasis units online. All the supplies that you think will be needed, get them now. Any questions?"

The staff looked at each other,  and then at the Ensign. A silence passed the room. " Well then I guess we better GET MOVING!" Flip said as he turned his back to the dispersing crew. "Sickbay to Captain" Flip tapping his communicator " Sir , sick bay is prepared for casualties sir".

"Acknowledged, Sickbay" came the reply " Lets hope we won't need it though.

 Flip couldn't agree more.
