Old Friends

"Old Friends"

Quv exited the turbolift. It'd been an ordinary day other than that he was holding an engineering kit in his hand. His Starfleet boots clanked off the deck plate as he walked down the corridor. He stopped and turned in front of the door to Shuttle Bay 2. "Computer, shuttle bay access. Authorization Quv wej jav Hut." The doors slammed open in Klingon fashion. The shuttle bay was very dim along the outer areas, with only three large yellow lights shining down the center.

A chill came down Quv's spine as he laid eyes upon his work. It had been more than two years since he had been at the helm of the runabout. Quv had spent many long days, many off duty hours into the Eagle, to make it a formidable craft. His work had clearly paid off. It looked like no other Starfleet runabout in existence. He stepped in front of the door to the vessel, letting it open in front of him. Nothing had changed. The USS Eagle was the same as the last time he'd stepped out of it. Quv took a quick glance around the living area, but made his way towards the cockpit.

Stepping around the transporter pad, he set the engineering kit down next to a pillar. He slid into the chair he had crafted in front of the main console. The chairs were much darker, with a much higher back than the ones installed when it was commissioned. Moving his fingers, almost like magician over the controls, bringing the controls and main computer online. "Computer, all systems status." he asked. "All systems operating within normal parameters." He nodded "Good."
