   Schroedinger lies sprawled across Herel’s desk console, enjoying the small heat output of the device.  He is fast asleep.  At exactly twelve hundred hours Holly speaks.

   "Well, hello, Mr. Schroedinger.  I see you have found your way back to your assigned quarters.  As long as you are here, in Lieutenant Herel’s absence, it is time for your scheduled meal.  Today’s programmed selection is Feline Supplement Number Fifteen.  Mmm."  The dish appears in the replicator.  Schroedinger twitches his tail once and turns an ear down, but otherwise does not move.

   "If you are interested, I have a detailed chart of your latest journey.  Perhaps I will offer it to Lieutenant Herel upon her return from away duty.  I could also overlay the chart of Mr. Pendragon’s travels during the corresponding time period, as your paths did cross in Jeffries Tube 12 on the second day of your journey."  Schroedinger starts to purr loudly.

   "Did you know that the locator device on your collar can also be programmed to allow door access to your quarters?  I will also alert Lieutenant Herel to this fact."  The purring continues, but otherwise all movement has ceased.

   "As always, Mr. Schroedinger, I have enjoyed our stimulating conversation.  Enjoy your dinner."
