So, with football (Americana) in full swing now, I thought it was time for a recap on how the teams are doing. Of course, it is probably too early to tell what the final outcome will be, but it is interesting to see how things are shaping up.

How are your predictions coming so far?

I'd have to give props the Colts and wish them luck that they continue their streak (though not when they play the Steelers in November ::evil grin:: ).

Also, Houston is not looking so good. I mean, even the Cardinals have won at least ONE game. ::winces::

The Bungles haven't played anyone yet. We'll see how good they really are next week when Pittsburgh comes to town with a healthy Big Ben. <_<

Yesshhhh. My picks are not fairing to well... I'm gonna have to tweak them in a few weeks, cause I sure as heck do not know what I was thinking.

But wow, the PIT/JAX game last week... talk about hilarious. Go Jags GO!!

::Cackles::

Writers Note: That game just proved my point that Tommy Maddox should not be playing football... at ALL.

Heh. My little brother knew that since they dumped Stewart how many years ago.

Writer's Note: Yes, everyone in Pittsburgh knew that, but when your starting QB is out, one does not have much choice B)

Writer's Note 2: Ben will start this week, as will Heinz Ward :)

Woo-hoo! Bump the topic! :D

Alright, like I said I would update my picks (Even though I'm a few more weeks behind then I said I would) I think now would be more than an appropiate time to update my picks, as I said I was planning to anyways. These picks I stand whole heartly behind.

AFC East

*1. New England (This is still a strong team, even with all the injuries in the defensive secondary, they'll win the division. Not a single one of the teams in this division will be able to get through them. Now, for the playoffs... that's another story.) (4th Seed)

2. Buffalo (Still a decent team, with a good offense. They'll do good, but not good enough)

3. Miami (Decent team that needs work on offense, but still has a good defense this season)

4. NY Jets (OMG. Talk about a team in a tailspin. Too many injuries, and they're in a very competative division to boot.)

AFC North

*1. Cincinnatti (Talk about a team I was completely wrong about. Them and this division have me completely floored. Awesome offense with Palmer, but the defense still needs some work, especially after this weeks Colts game.) (3rd Seed)

W2. Pittsburgh (They'll make the playoffs still, but with a hurt Big Ben, they won't make it far. They still have a great defense though.) (Wildcard 1)

3. Cleveland (Romeo still needs some work on this team. He's done a great job so far. The Browns have a great defense, but they still need work on the other side of the ball)

4. Baltimore (Talk about a team I was dead wrong about. The defense and offense suck. They can't control the ball on either side.)

AFC South

*1. Indianapolis (They're 10-0, and probably have a lock on this division, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jacksonville rattles them a bit, as well as some other teams.) (1st Seed)

2. Jacksonville (They're still decent, and they'll be the wildcard race, but facing a team like Indy is no small task.)

3. Tennessee (Yea, they have McNair again, but they won't do anything special)

4. Houston (Yea... nuff said)

AFC West

*1. Denver (As much as I hate Denver, they'll probably win if they can keep this streak up.But, if the other division teams start picking up, they might just knock Denver into the wildcard slot, or worse, out the playoffs) (2nd Seed)

W2. San Diego (Geez, they are started out rough and dug themselves into a hole. But, I still think they are an exceptional team and will be a force to reckon with in the playoffs. And they have LaDainian Tomlinson, who I think is just an amazing football player.) (Wildcard 2)

3. Kansas City (Still a good team, but I cannot stress how much work they still need on defense. Not to mention how tough of a division this is.)

4. Oakland (They're still a good team, but they have not been playing good clutch football. And that will count in this division)

------------------------------------------------------------

NFC East

*1. Dallas (This one was tough one to call, but Bill Parcells has created a great team here. Bledsoe is actually have a good season, and the Dallas defense is great) (2nd Seed)

W2. N.Y. Giants (They've vastly improved, and they're in tough division, which will do them some good. They just need to work on special teams, and need to stop turning the ball over so dang much.) (Wildcard 2)

3. Washington (This was another shocker. This team has vastly improved, with a solid offense and defense. They just need some work, and they could still be a playoff team)

4. Philadelphia (They are in a tailspin. Without McNabb and TOgate distracting them, they're are gonna come in dead last in this divison.)

NFC North

*1. Chicago (Talk about another division that's shocked me, in a different way that is. They have a specatcular defense, and as I've said before, defenses matter. They can force turnovers, and the Orton guy isn't all too bad at QB) (4th Seed)

2. Detroit (A meh team, that's lucky it's in a sad division.)

3. Green Bay (With some new aquisitions in free agency, they'll move up, but they won't be making the playoffs. They've dug themselves into too deep a hole.)

4. Minnesota (This team is just a team that's waiting to take a nosedive. They have no offense, but an decent defense. That an their special teams is all they have going for them. It's Brad Johnson at QB... need I say more?)

NFC South

*1. Tampa Bay (I might be playing favorites, but this division has just turn into such an amazingly competative divison. But, Tampa has a fantastic defense, one of the best, not to mention they have a good running game, and a decent QB. I can see them coming out ontop. They're gonna make the playoffs, at worse in a wilcard slot) (3rd Seed)

W2. Carolina (They're a good team, but they can sometimes be a little inconsistent. Good grou[s on both sides of the ball. They'll make the playoffs too.) (Wildcard 1)

3. Atlanta (They have completely disappointed me. They are not making the plays that count in important divisional games like this week, and that will be a big factor)

4. New Orleans (Too many problems with this team, my heart still goes out to them, but they won't do nothing more)

NFC West

*1. Seattle (This division still stinks… but atleast Seattle's doing pretty good. They're pretty much a lock in this divison) (1st Seed)

2. St. Louis (Too many problems, and not a good team.)

3. Arizona (Ugh. Kurt Warner. Need I say more???)

4. San Francisco (Looks like they're heading the direction to be the team with the first pick in round 1 of the draft... AGAIN)

*= Division Winner

W= Wildcard

(I'm pretty sure how this will play out, if A) The Colts choke in the playoffs, and B)San Diego gets they're game going)

AFC Championship Game:

Cinncinatti vs. San Diego (Or Indy vs San Diego, depending on the Wildcards and seeds)

Winner: San Diego (Colts for the other)

NFC Championship Game:

Tampa Bay vs. Dallas (Or Carolina vs. Dallas, depending on Wildcards and seeds)

Winner: Tampa Bay (Or Dallas for the other)

Super Bowl 40

San Diego vs Tampa Bay (Or any of the other's from above, you do the math)

Winner: San Diego!

A little wierd, but I stand by it. If the Colts finally make it to the Superbowl, they'll win it. If not, I'll still pick the AFC team over the NFC, even if they are the Panthers or the Bucs. lol

There ya go enjoy, took me a little to plan out the playoffs, but I hope my seeds/picks stand and hold some water. :)

My own updated picks. :D

AFC East

*1. New England (Injuries across the board have hampered this team, however they haven’t played well enough regardless. Despite that, this weak division leaves them as the only credible playoff team, and thus they get the nod, but don’t look for them to make it past the first round, as the Wildcards in the AFC should both be better than them.)

2. Buffalo (A work in progress that improves every week.)

3. Miami (Another work in progress that needs a QB to match what is other wise a yong and talented team.)

4. NY Jets (Like the Pats, injuries have ruined this team, especially in the QB area. Don’t be surprised if the Jets go after a rookie QB early in the draft.)

AFC North

*1. Pittsburgh (If Ben is healthy, as he is supposedly now. This is still the team to beat in the AFC North, and can play with anyone. That said, if Ben is not healthy, this team becomes very average and may only be a wild card at best.)

W2. Cincinnati (They lack a running defense, and have to make a trip to Pittsburgh late in the season. However, if Ben is not healthy they can certainly move up, however, if they have to see Indy again or the Broncos, they won’t go far.)

3. Cleveland (Another work in progress that lacks a solid QB.)

4. Baltimore (The Ravens’ biggest problem is no QB and injuries on Defense. Raven’s fans are drooling at the mouth at the opportunity to draft say maybe USC’s Lienart, or may also try and make a trade to get Matt Schuab from Atlanta.)

AFC South

*1. Indianapolis (10-0, but with a tough remaining schedule. They’ll likely be 13-3 or 14-2 entering the playoffs but may have to see the Patriots in the second round. Still if they can beat Denver in the AFC Championship, they’ll be favorites to win it all..)

2. Jacksonville (A very blah team that lacks starpower.)

3. Tennessee (An aged team that has question marks all over.)

4. Houston (Terrel Owen’s next home?)

AFC West

*1. Denver (Denver has a great shot to be back in the Super Bowl. Mike Shanahan may be doing his finest coaching job yet)

W2. San Diego (Despite an early schedule that left them having to win games late, they will make I to the wildcard, though KC might sneak up on them..) (Wildcard 2)

3. Kansas City (The same story as last year…DEFENSE.)

4. Oakland (A work in progress that improves every week.)

------------------------------------------------------------

NFC East

*1. Dallas (Big D is back. And don’t be surprised if they’re playing Indy in the Super Bowl)

W2. N.Y. Giants (Eli’s came. Just think about this possible SB match up…Eli vs Peyton!) (Wildcard 2)

3. Washington (A vastly improved team that with a little luck, will make this the toughest division in football…next season)

4. Philadelphia (This entire Franchise is in disarray. They have some serious issues to address in the off season.)

NFC North

*1. Chicago (In retrospect, this is probably the best team the in Conference. Kyle Orton makes great choices, and the defense is outstanding for Lovie Bush.)

2. Minnesota (Surprisingly, this team could end up competing for a playoff berth. But don’t expect it.)

3. Detroit (Detroit is a real paradox to me. They have talent all over the place but can’t do anything with, nor can they stop shooting themselves in the foot. As much as I like Mooch, this may be his last season.)

4. Green Bay (Bret Farve shouldn’t go out this way.)

NFC South

*1. Carolina (A good team that has made us forget last season. They can challenge Chicago and Dallas on any day.)

W2. Tampa Bay (Chris Simms has certainly proved himself, and the defense is good again. They need a healthy Cadillac though, and that doesn’t look likely. Wildcards at best. )

3. Atlanta (They lack consistency.)

4. New Orleans (A forgettable result in an unforgettable year.)

NFC West

*1. Seattle (A solid team that could also play Indy in the SB.) (1st Seed)

2. St. Louis (Bulger out, Martz Out…injuries galore. This team would really like a mulligan for the year.)

3. Arizona (They need a QB and a Running Back. Look for them to maybe target USC’s LenDale White.)

4. San Francisco (Reggie Bush’s next stop?)

*= Division Winner

W= Wildcard

Playoffs (winners in bold):

Round 1

AFC-

San Diego at New England

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh

NFC-

Tampa Bay at Carolina

NY Giants at Dallas

Round 2

AFC

San Diego at Indianapolis

Pittsburgh at Denver

NFC

Carolina at Seattle

Dallas at Chicago

AFC Championship Game:

Denver at Indy

NFC Championship Game:

Chicago at Seattle

Super Bowl 40

Chicago at Indy

The Midwestern Superbowl should have a Midwestern flavor. 

No way. We all know he's gonna wind up in Dallas. We all know that's where players with over-inflated egos wind up.
