I don't know, man. I'm divided on this one.. While I would like to see how the Romulan War and the eventual forming of the Federation plays out, I don't want want the stupid B&B Twins to screw up Star Trek any further after Nemesis and that travesty of a series called Enterprise. I'd probably have to have say no though.. if they did make it, I'd probably go see it anyways.

No,No,No, if it was from anyone but Berman I might say yes, but he should stop now before he kills the whole Trek Legacy!

::Slaps Rick Berman upside the head::

Hmm...though I personally feel there were some good things in "Nemesis", i agree it was not a well made story/film etc. I enjoyed the concept of enterprise, did not see many episodes, but liked what I saw. I don't know enough about Berman and writters and such. If successful, this could open the door to some more trek...right now its stagnated and we are all waiting for another seiries after 30 years of virtually no breaks. If it is bad, it could just take the Trek Saga more apart than it already is. From my lack of detailed information, my opinion is that I would like to see steps taken to open the door for more trek. A movie that seems to offer numerous options for spinoff series seems to fit that description.

hmm, I'd see it if it were based around a small (weaponless) transport ship of a crew of humans who are disliked by the evil federation humans. But this ship (which would be named after a battle the captain lost) wouldn't be like any Enterprise. The captain would have been a sergent in the war against the federation, and would wear something cool, like a browncoat. (hey, fans could call themselves that!) His second would be a hot warrior woman, and the pilot would be her husband, who's a bit of a geek (he would have to play with plastic dinosaurs), but would actually be a good pilot. Then the third would be the mussle man. He would be full of testosterone (like most CSECS), but he would be crazy like a fox (what with the orange hat, fighting elves shirt, and the no-kissing-on-the-lips-because-of-poison). The engineer would be a cute, 20-something year old girl who's always cheerful, and actually knows how to fix stuff. And has a rather big strawberry obsession. It could have a sheppard and a hooker on it (although ST probobly wouldn't stand for it since it's not PC), and maybe a crazy telapath that was saved from the evil federation, and is on the most wanted list. and the bad guys would have to actually be evil for once.and a special division could wear something like, something like, blue gloves. Yeah, blue gloves would work. And there could be cannibals floating around the outskirts of known space.

Oh, and it would have horses and no aliens.

You might want to check your math. I think you forget to carry some 10s.

I'd like a film but of course I'd love to see Ricky leave. You know that everyone involved in Trek wouldn't shed too many tears at his departure. I just read the reports on the big convention in las vegas on the main startrek.com site and man, there are quite a few barbs hidden in their sweet words.

The harm is that the man could make a bad movie and flush Trek down the toilet for good. Enterprise was a setback. A bad movie might drive even more people away for a long time. Enterprise was not a good series until he stepped out of the way and let someone else take over (Manny). No one wants him or Braga to ever touch Trek again.

We need a blockbuster about the Dominion War.

But of course, why should anyone listen to me?

We need a blockbuster. Period.

This is going to be a "unique" post. Those with weak hearts are advised to look away.

This is going to sound odd, but I'm thinking it would be for the best if ST went underground, and stayed there. Recently, some of the best damn sci-fi shows on tv DON'T HAVE ALIENS ON IT, but so many people have the mindset that a sci-fi show needs aliens that they're killing them. I'm going to take firefly for an example. Now the reason the show failed was becasue of Rodenberry (other than Joss and those FOX execs). Since Rodenberry created Trek, many people gained the idea that a sci-fi show needed aliens. When people heard about firefly, they wouldn't watch it (even though it was much better than the latest ST series). Why, because since it didn't have aliens it couldn't be sci-fi. It was a western they said, and they said westerns couldn't any good.

Star Trek was like the 60s Batman show for sci-fi. People gained the mindsight that all comics are like the 60s Batman show, not realizing that books like the Walking Dead, Ex Machina, and 100 Bullets are out there.

But now FOX is out of the picture, and the only thing that stands in the way of the general public taking science fiction as serious is the Star Trek mindset. We remove Star Trek from the public and give them shows/movies like firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Serenity (heck, even Stargate could work), and maybe they'll start taking us seriously for once. Not to mention pretty floral bonnets and orange hats are more fun to see in conventions than pointed ears (unless it's LotR ears) are.

I think TOS was successful because all previous sci-fi had an dark future alien wars end of the world motif, ST came and was like "oh its happy federation exlplore make peace time" and thats why people liked it, I don't know if underground is the best idea, because i think with the right creative team, we could really keep some great trek going. and I'm sure you will all respond that Rick Berman is NOT the right creative team. But I would like to see Trek continue, maybe they should get that Coto fellow on this project...

Josh Whedon is the man. I just wanted to throw that out there.

And if Berman is attached to anything Trek related. It'd be a definite no from me.
