The Message

I continued my monitoring of the rescue team from the Meh Ops station. The makeshift homing devices were doing their job, but because of the H'tiss dampening field I could only monitor what was in close proximity to the patch wearers. For a brief instant I thought I saw RawI' LenS'Ra KWalus on the Meh but this was probably someone's imagination.

I detected a firefight on the surface. Obviously out team had engaged the H'tiss guards. I suggested putting the ship at red alert but we instead went to yellow alert. Shortly after the firefight began we intercepted a subspace communications signal from the complex. This signal was quickly jammed. However, some of the signal probably got through.

We are still trying to determine the exact nature of the signal. It could be a text message, audio, or audio and video. There communications technology is different than ours so it may take a while to determine. More important the message could be a routine report, a distress signal, or intelligence about our capabilities and whereabouts. Given the length of time the H'tiss have had our missing crewmen under interrogation we have to assume the latter. At any rate I have begun my analysis of the signal to determine the exact nature of the message and who it might have been sent to. We know the H'tiss's spoken language is similar to ours in most respects, but their written language bears no resemblance to ours.

I am confident that only the beginning of the message got out, but the signal was strong enough to rule out being blocked completely. Surely the recipient will be able to determine it was jammed at the source and will be en route to us.
