T'Parek sat down at the science console and sighed. Once again, her attempts at gaining a little more information about the intrusion had gone awry. She certainly wasn't conducting espionage, and she wasn't acting on behalf of an organization attempting to undermine Starfleet. She was working for a much more common, and yet more annoying entity: her curiosity.

 

She leaned forward towards her monitor and mindlessly began a sensor diagnostic. "I'll have to be much more careful... Starfleet is on the lookout for suspicious activity," she muttered. She flicked another switch skyward - or at least in an upward direction. "Then again, I suppose that most crewmembers will just assume it's that Vulcan quest for knowledge. And I'd be under more scrutiny if I were Human ... Terra Prime doesn't exactly embrace Vulcan members," she thought sarcastically. "Still ... it's probably not the best idea to nose around in the muddled messes of the high-ranking."

 

As the diagnostic completed, T'Parek leaned back in her chair and yawned. "I wonder if Connor really is a member of such an organization. In fact, I wonder if anyone on the ship is. I know that I am guitly of watching my crewmates under a different light since the Terra Prime incident ... but I haven't seen much change in their reactions to me or any of the other non-Terran species. They'd be subverse about it, of course... I wonder if anyone watches me in the same way. Again, I certainly wouldn't be part of Terra Prime itself, but there are other terrorist organizations..."

 

She looked around at the people on the Bridge. "And what about the Science department transfers that I approved? Will those be scrutinized by the bureaucracy? Will they look at our decisions and hunt for a hidden pattern or meaning? Are there hidden files on all of our data equipment? Do they monitor our private communiques? Are they secretly placing subdermal tracers within us? Are they watching us now, in every facet of our positions??? Or could it merely be that my wild Starfleet conspiracy theories are running away with me again...
