Thats odd T'linna, whenever i type, it does the red spelling line, no matter what app I'm in, it doesn't do it in safari (browser) but thats because it probably expects you to type oddly spelled things on the internet, i'm sure i could turn it on for spellcheck. What version of OSX do you have? I have Tiger
