Land Of The Dead

Heya,

Just wondering if anyone checked it out. Zombies are the most frightening thing in horror to me. This movie's alright but that's about it. Its saving grace was being able to hear Dennis Hopper say the words...

"Zombies man...they creep me out"

Nyah, so post your thoughts on the flick or on zombies in general. Thought I'd post something random!

I've seen the Dawn of the Dead remake, Land of the Dead, and Shawn of the Dead.

Personally, of the three Dawn is my favorite. I always like seeing the world go to hell in a zombie movie, and havind Land start off after the fall was kind of a let down, although it was a good movie.

Shawn was funny, poked at some of Zombies weaknessess and what not.

::tired::

After watching those movies, i made a little plan to get away incase of zombie attacks. Sadly my family members could not be included they would only slow me down.

I think I have seen all of the originals and remakes, even dating back to the original black and white Night of the Living Dead and about 3 or 4 low quality ripoffs in the '80s, except Land of the Dead and Shawn of the Dead. Don't know why I haven't seen these, just haven't.

Oh man, you have to make time to see Shaun. Best zombie flick in years. When you have two guys trying to decide which music records they can throw at a pair of slowly oncoming zombies, you know you have a winer.

Hmmmmm the guns were a pain. But Land DID have some good points and the zombies "learning" had some creepy charm at a few points but honestly "They're just looking for a place to go?"???? that plunged it out of goodness and into alrightness.

Well Danny Boyle, the director of 28 days later has kept repeating that his film isn't a zombie movie and he's pretty right since they aren't the undead, they didn't feast on flesh but just attacked everything and they ran pretty fast. I think its better that you didn't know how far it went because hey if the media got knocked out where you are now, you wouldn't know anything going on.

How would the zombies get off the island of britain? If one got on a plane, it would just eat the pilot and all the others then it would crash. Maybe in a boat? or possible that underground/water tunlle between frace and uk

They didn't get off on 28 days later, however in land of the dead they just walked underwater.

Woo! I love Zombie movies. ::Everyone stares:: What? No really. I am always up for a good zombie flick. (Mom and Dad still try and figure this one out). I just love films about common everyday folks battling Zombies. Oh and incidentally, when I find myself in these zombie type situations in video games, my weapon of choice is the shotgun. Thank you very much. And yes, I am with Images, zombies are scary, but I think thats the attraction.

I'll start with the remakes of George Romeros classics. I saw Dawn of the Dead (2004) with Ving Raymes when it was out in theatres. I must say, I did enjoy it and the cool factor was right on. But, the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead starring Tony Todd (TNG DS9) is really good also. The 1968 classic original is black and white glory, but I am partial to these remakes. Have not seen Land of the Dead (remake).

Shaun of the Dead. I sat through that entire thing with a goofy grin on my face. Well done flick, had all the zombie film cliches in there yet Shaun still stood well on its own. Good, funny stuff in general.

28 Days Later - now this was stark, depressing zombie flick. Creeped me out, yet I did enjoy the film. This film departed from the "lets fight back and survive" angle and went with the "lets just survive" angle.

I'd also like to recommend, "Return of the Living Dead" from 1985, with one of the best lines ever "Send more par...aaaaa..medics" (Zombie talking into the call radio). Campy, zombie fun at its best. Muwah. This film is a get a bunch of friends together, order pizza type of flick.

Thats all for now.

I hate Zombies they are freaky. Just that whole Living Dead concept and them wanting to munch on me doesn't appeal to me in the least.
