When Nothing Else Matters...

Matt scurried back and forth from the shuttle pod to Lt. Grey. How forgetful can he be? He stated in his head. Of course that was only a couple times; he mostly just walked around and assisted Grey without doing errands.

“Not bad weather, eh?” Matt commented.

“Yep.” Grey simply replied.

Matt and Grey stood up on top of a small hill looking up at the sky. Of course Matt was looking, although he wasn’t quite sure about Grey. Matt’s job was simple, he was to assist Grey in anyway possible and provide security support if ever needed. The security part was pretty much crossed out due to the scans of no life forms.

Grey, who was crouching, looked up to Matt and pointed to a distant stream, “Can you get me a water sample from that stream over there?”

Matt nodded and began to walk in that direction. The stream was just next to what looked like a cross-breed between a hill and a mountain. The stream was only about 400 metres away.

He needed the walk; he needed to think about a couple things. T’parek was on his mind. It has been a while since he had that clumsy dinner with her. It has been a while since he thought about her that way. She was a lt.jg, he was an ensign, but now they’re the same rank. He started to wonder if that had anything to do with it. Regardless, he thought he’d put that behind him. However it was not that, infact he had forgot about it. Did he like her so little that he forgot? All these thoughts had entered his head. Anger, sadness, and many other emotions filled through his head. Perhaps the lack of sexual activity got to him. Heck, he was attracted to Commander Cole. Then again, who wouldn’t be? He thought. Something about T’parek is what he liked, however, he had no idea what made him like her.

Matt sighed and finally approached the stream. He scooped up a cupful of water into the cup that Grey had supplied. He looked back at Grey’s location. He said to himself, “Now the walk back.”
