The Plea: Part 1

To: Chief of Security, Lieutenant Commander Muon Quark

From: Assistant Medical Officer, Lieutenant Victor Images M.D

Subject: (None)

Dear Muon,

We've known eachother for quite a while. You're one of the people on this station I feel I can really trust. That's why I feel the need to specifically seek your help as well as the fact that as Security Chief you're the one who can advise me best in this type of situation.

I'll keep this message informal, I'm too tired to go into it in any other way. Remember when I was sitting in the brig and you were keeping me company? Remember how Commander Hawke came and you had to leave so we could talk?

Well she did more than talk when she arrived Muon, she threatened me pretty damn badly. She violated Starfleet regulations, hell, Federation regulations. She told me that she'd force herself into my mind against my will, violating me, look at my thoughts and then would change my memories to make me forget. Now I don't know whether she was actually going to do it, as I think about it more I find it quite unlikely but what I do know is that she had the foresight to disconnect surveillance to the place before she made these comments.

You know as well as I do that treatment like this of prisoners is without a doubt wrong, no matter the circumstances.

Now I don't want to be a stool pigeon but its become worse. Hawke came into sickbay today, I offered my services and she told me to walk out an airlock in front of the staff. Later on when talking to Captain Ayers, he said he was aware of Hawke's tactics in the brig and did not care.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. What action is there to take and should I take it? Muon, I found the thought of keeping Hawke's threat under my hat hard enough but if the Commander also continues to act like this in front of other crewmembers with not even the Captain himself to keep her in check and supporting her other actions I do not think I will be able to stand a continued presence on the station. I have only recently returned but this crisis is already giving me major second thoughts about that choice.

I do not wish to cause trouble. I just want to be able to raise my head high and be proud of who I am and what I am on Aegis, a human, a Starfleet officer and a doctor. If you could even just talk to the Commander and express my feelings to her I would be in your debt. You have helped me before in the past when things needed to be done and remembering Mogg I know you will fight for an underdog, thats why I trust you enough to tell you all this. A sign of this trust being I have yet to even tell my new Chief about the problem even though on first impression she does seem like the understanding type.

Whatever your decision or advice turns out to be I will still consider you a good friend. Though I probably never show it enough, that is how I think of you, as a good friend.

Sincerely,

Lieutenant Victor Images M.D
