Hey there,

I'd be very careful about doing that. Within an advanced sim, if you say a plasma conduit needs to be replaced or that the intermix levels on the matter/antimatter reaction chamber are unstable, you might see an action that causes the ship to suddenly "drop out of warp" because you started your repair.

No crying. ;)

Okay, what can you tell me about bio-neural gel packs? I mostly watched TNG so I'm more familiar with isolinear chips. Did they replace iso-chips entirely? How does one go about fixing a malfunctioning gel pack? And what do they do/look like when they are malfunctioning?

alright bio neural gel packs are made of biological material supsended in a type of gel then withing that they have wires that transfer the info to the ships systems the theory behind it is that it will function more like a human brain. So instead of giving all possible answers to a problem (though it can do that) it will give you its "best guess" this also allows holograms to become more human. These packs can not replace all of the isolinear chips however because they would then be stooped down to making calculations like we do so to do complex calculations there are still Iso chips found in the ship. One drawback to haveing these packs is that they can catch any disease that we can so they could essentially become sick. Usually with a malfuntioning gel pack you would replace it just as you would a iso chip however since a gel pack has to be made and cannot be replicated. You should first check and see if the malfunction is due to a cureable disease for which you would then cure it if the problem is not a disease then you must replace it. And finally a "sick" gel pack looks greenish blackish depending on the disease that it has as its normal color is blue

nice work there!

AS i was applying to be weopons specailist on the Escalibur i was wondering..

On a type 2 handheld phaser does energy from the power cell pass through all three modules and is then routed through shielded conduits to the prefire chamber, a sphere of gulium arkenide-reinforced LiCu 521, 1.5 cm in diameter. Or is it the other way around?

actually the energy does not pass through the modules per say the first module controls the emitter at the end of the phaser to control the beam width and intensity the second module just keeps the phaser from exploding and the third module is only utilized on the ship to keep it from using an intesity beyond stun. So it only actully passes through the power cell the prefire chamber (on a Type two there are 4) and the emitter in that order

If I didnt answer the question as you would have liked could you rephrase it

Hey there,

But keep in mind, you are talking about the design that was in use "ten years ago" within the Trek universe so much might have changed. :P
