Vampire

Heya,

Being here quite a long time now, I know that its really not kosher to talk about other sims that much here but I'd really like some help so I'll try to brief and snappy and hopefully not too annoying. ^_^

Anyyyyway, lately I've been playing non-stop a PC RPG called "Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines". I got reeeeeeeeally into it and after doing a bit of browsing on the web I found out about its pen and paper roots and how its supposed to be brilliant to play. I was wondering if anyone out there might know anything about the pen and paper game, especially if they can help me by finding out if there are any online rpg groups that play in the "world of darkness" world. I know I'm probably just being silly since its a pretty small community that plays it but heck, I suck at searching the web for this type of thing and wondered if anone can lend a hand.

Thanks guys,

Eric

Well lets see...I dont really have any PC RPG's, but I am a big fan of Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic I and II for Xbox. Final Fantasy buff too, but not to many others. It just seems like that many good RPG's for this generation of consoles.

As for online RPG's, I'm member of this site, naturally. I'm also a member of a Resident Evil message board RP, and I used to be part of a Pikmin message board RP. Yes I know, the last one seems kinda silly, but it was basically a good war story with uh...Pikmin ^_^

I did the pen and paper for a short time back in the mid-late 90's. Images, I enjoyed the tabletop Vampire RPG when I played it. As for on-line RPG Vampire, I am not into that.

But gaming wise, you'd recommend Bloodlines? I've read the gaming review on Gamespy, gave it a solid rating. I'm going to hijack your topic now with some questions, lol.

1.) You play in the third person perspective correct?

2.) Do you need to point and click to get your character to move, or can you press "W" or "S" to move them around? I am not a fan of point and click player movement.

3.) Is it really an immersive RPG experience? I've been on the lookout for one, and KOTOR just didn't do it for me personally.

4.) Considering I'm not totally into Vampires, just a casual interest, is the gaming experience fun anyway?

Thanks for the hijacking.

Third or first at the press of a button.

Nope, like a standard shooter they use the WASD keys for moving, spacebar for jump, ctrl for crouch etc. and the mouse for aiming

3.) Is it really an immersive RPG experience? I've been on the lookout for one, and KOTOR just didn't do it for me personally.

It plunged me in pretty deep!

4.) Considering I'm not totally into Vampires, just a casual interest, is the gaming experience fun anyway?

DEFINITELY fun.

Thanks for the hijacking.

No problem mon.

I play a few pen and paper RPGs... Dungeons and Dragons D20 Modern... I do have Vampire the masquerade book... but White Wolfs gaming system is very different from which D&D plays and it took me like 2 years to figure it out (cause I never played it till then lol) But i mostly play D&D cause my hubby is a DM and we grab other ppl to play... (its amazing how many ppl arent in their teens that play too ^_^) But for vampire I have tried to rpg it like we do star trek and I do have the new RPG Dechiper came out but like white wolf the game system is messed up lol
