Battlestar Galactica

Not giving anything away, but BRAVO!! This is turning out to be (in my honest opinion) Sci Fi channel's best original series to date.

Zaphod,

I enjoyed the 2nd season BSG premier as well. I want to see more fighter pilot antics, and more of the large, creepy *robot* cylons. Woo hoo.

And, surprise surprise, I find myself leaning toward Stargate Atlantis. I've never gotten into Stargate SG-1, but Atlantis may be my ticket.

I thought SG-1 was the best of the three, but by far the other two also rocked the house. The problem with SG-1, is that their introducing new characters, new villains, new locals and what not. It's essentially a whole new season (Edit: Or series even...), so you cant expect them to jump back into the saddle right away, like they have the last couple seasons with the premieres of Fallen/Homecomming and Uh...crap, I cant remember the season eight opener...

The Seige part three was also very well done. Mitch Pellegi rocks, and I cant wait to see more of him. I think they also tackled the Wraith issue very well. They obviously cant beat them, yet so the whole cloak thing works. And, for anyone that goes to gateworld, or other fan sites for Stargate, all I can say is that I cant wait for both series fall breaks "The Fourth Horse Man" and "Lost Boys"

Galactica...what can I say...It aint you little brothers romp in space. Between all the fraking, shooting, and robot enpregnations, you'd think they'd call it "Sex and the Cylons" ;)

I thought it was done very well. A excellent opener, plus a look into Saul's character. Plus, Bill Adama with a Mustache :D hehe

To sum it up: Sci Fi has again given geeks a reason not to have a life on Fridays.

Galactica has a lot of ...well big shoes to fill after season one. I enjoyed the Second episode....suprised they had a Viper/Raider fight... So few Pilots left...

Agree with you on Saul's flashbacks Travis..Glad to see an episode focus on him. And I think we shall see next week these "Reinvented Galactica" Cylon Toasters..are not to be made fun of!

Yes! I've been waiting for the Cylon *toaster heads* to be given more exposure. Number 6...what a pansy. ;)

What are you talking about?!

She beat the crap out of Starbuck, and mentally abused Baltar more then a number of times! She's a hardcore dominatrix!

Just my kind of woman.

Thoughts on "Valley of Darkness", season 2's second episode?

Nice to see the *toaster heads* get some screen time and cause some havoc. And havoc would be an understatement.

I'm a huge fan of the SciFi Friday Line up. At first i was a bit worried about the new crew that would be on SG1 but what i have seen so far has been good. It will be interesting to see how the new Gaefa(Sp?) Goverment will turn out.

Atlantis turned out great, where is ford? ^_^

Very good episode. It also had the best line in any Battlestar Galactica episode to date (IMHO). "Marines, let's go toaster shopping.".... Captain Apollo

The Toaster shopping comment by Apollo drew a laugh from me as well. The Cylons, although they failed to take out Galactica...certainly won in the body count catagory. I also can understand why they dont use the Centurions too often, must chew up their budget with all that CGI. (hence perhaps the lure to use Six and Boomer so often?)

I think the best dramatic point was the Adama "child" scene. A well delivered image by the Six character to Baltar's goofed up mind.

Just a head's up....We will be seeing the Battlestar Pegasus in the future...but in what form, or circumstance....we shall have to wait and see! ^_^

2nd season episode 2 was definitely a great episode. In BG:TOS, the Cylons were always slow, clunky and could barely turn around. It was always hard to imagine that they were capable of ever winning. In the new series, the Centurions (and all the Cylons) are actually stronger and faster than the humans.

The child scene was great -- interesting Biblical allusion too that plays on the show's

developing religious theme.

I was just glad to see the scene between Apollo and Saul. Sheesh, that poor man sure gets picked on alot by the other officers... ^_^

The writers and producers of BSG need to be careful with the Baltar character, regarding writing themselves into a corner. The man is batty, and several seasons of sustained battiness may (or may not) get old viewer wise.

Is it possible to keep Baltar as a sustained, legitimate character this way? Will the storyline branch off with him being exposed as a traitor?

Kudos to the actor, James Callis. I still want to knock Baltar into next week, the little turncoat. ^_^
