Busy as usual

Personal log 0507.11

Yesterday was a busy day in Engineering. When I came on duty, I immediately checked the engineering logs. I noted that Ensign Wudup increased the anti-matter variance in the warp core by 2%, without my consent of course. In his log he exclaimed that it was needed to counter measure one of the experiments he was doing. I hope he contacted the Chief about that. I took a glare at Ensign Wudup and walked over to the Master Warp Core control console, and decreased the variance by 2%. I walked back to the other console to check the logs; I’ve noticed that the Engineering crew has done poorly recently. I was and still am a bit frustrated by that. However, one of the Engineering crew continues to amaze me, his name is Tandaris Admiran, a Trill.

Later on that day, we encountered some Rommies (Romulans). We took one heck of a beating from them. Engineering was responsible for repairing the damage. Just when the battle couldn’t get worse, they hit our left nacelle! Tandaris handled the repairs to that. We took a risk on fusing the coils, but we were already pressured enough by the bridge to get warp drive online. Eventually we got the Warp drive online. It couldn’t sustain warp 6 for long though. I was badgered by the bridge to have a repairs report handed in. We sent them the report, however just when Crispin entered Engineering to receive the report, the nacelle started to buckle. The Chief took immediate action and issued everyone out of Engineering. Why couldn’t I stay? I wish I could but orders are orders and I guess I can’t be too heroic, eh. Luckily the core was ejected in time.

As this log states, yesterday was one heck of a day.
