If you could remove/alter one thing from canon ...

Here's a quote from Duane's website...

"The final volume, Rihannsu: The Empty Chair will be going to the publisher shortly."

I have a bad feeling about this.

(what are the odds this book is ruined by Nemisis? (The movie, not the monkey))

Well, I am hoping that Ms. Duane stays with the background she crafted in her past Romulan books. No trace of Remans or forehead ridges in these books.

Even if she DOES use Nemesis in some way (the film not the monkey), I have confidence because, well, it's Diane Duane.

:D

YAY!!!! I've been waiting two years for that book! (I like Diane Duane and her Rihannsu work.)

The one thing I would remove is for them to stop finding strange occurences and really easily identifying and fixing them without ever using that knowledge on a huge scale or showing signs of it! Case and point, "rascals". Okay they all get turned into kids and Crusher immediately knows its because while they were getting transported, their RNA code was removed during transport....

So how come nobody uses this! How come old people all don't start doing this and get a new lease on life! They even say in the episode that its what most people dream of! Its that kind of thing. There are a few more of these miracle-technology things that boggle my mind.

Edit: woah, I said "thing" a lot...sound like a surfer.

Couple of things that should probably be different...

The Enterprise always the only ship in the quadrant.

The Enterprise always finding strange objects and energy readings on previously explored worlds.

Oh yeah, definately Star Trek V. I would have also canned the Wesley/Traveler bit. Can the Traveler all together and bring in more shooting of phasers and torpedos. More of Species 8479 or 2 or whatever they were. Toss out Worfs kid, too. ANNOYING!

Ok, obviously people are gonna hate me for saying this, but I wanted more Occupation stuff. Obviously if you know anything about my character you know that's what I was interrested in. The whole Bajorans, Prophets, Occupation, Emissary, all that stuff rocks, and think of all the awesome scenes between Kira and Sisko because of it, such as the one where she gets trapped under a beam and he has to keep her awake, that scene brings me to tears.

As a kid I liked Wesley, simply because he was a kid. But as I got older... *stab stab stab!!!*

If I could change one thing, I'd make the Xindi Incident make Enterprise's rating go through the roof since it rocked amazingly!

Also, I agree with Polaski over Crusher, plus she was Canadian, she even said Data's name the Canadian way!

I wanna see some WW3 stuff!

I would have made Chakotay's character way cooler, he had potential, too bad he sucked so horribly.

PLEASE! Get rid of that episode where Riker is held captive by aliens and they try to make him insane by CONSTANTLY making him relive that play. Man I hate that episode more than ANY other one.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Muwahahaha... that is what I tell everyone who goes, "You're a trekkie? So what do you think of Wesley..."

Hmm... If I could change one thing T'Pol would have been less emotional/erotic...

JesusTrekkie, there were reasons for T'Pol's emotional behavior.

Just a question: Why does everyone hate STV: The Final Frontier??? I liked it.

The premise for it is...well...dumb. The idea of being able to go from Neutral Zone (about ohhhh half way in the middle of the Beta Quadrant) to the center of the universe in under....um a life time...is...well...just out there.. Not to mention the generally poor job that was done of the attempt to be a deep pschylogical movie. Just my opinion.

I agree. I just don't like Vulcans trying to be sex objects. I'm sorry, but the idea of less than perfect Vulcans is irriating.

Yes, especially considering the fact that Voyager wouldnt have survived geting back home if they had come back the slow way.

I don't remember the Neutral Zone in Final Frontier...

I don't know about the perfect Vulcan thing...I always play my Vulcan characters as a little "odd" for their people.

a few simple changes...... ^_^

a)noone...ever...gets changed into an omnipotent superbeing just because the writers are too crappy to think of a real storyline for them

b)Crusher and Picard hook up...I mean..c'mon, what how many years of sexual tension between them and nothing ever comes of it?

c)Killing Data..in fact..Nemesis never happened...we will never speak of it again...

d)More Q

e)Less Borg

e-a) In regards to aforementioned rule, this does not apply to 7 of 9, in fact, as much more 7 of 9...as much as possible....

f)Anytime someone whines about the Dominion/Cardassians they will instantly be shot or beamed out an airlock

g)Enterprise never...EVER existed...mentioning it carries a sentance of life of listening to Neelix talk and tasting his food

h)Neelix is not allowed anywhere near a kitchen or anything resembeling a kitchen

i)No more people dying and then showing up the next season due to a temporal anomaly/space time vortex/time suit strapped to their arses....it is idiotic and boring....kill the characters or dont...make up your mind. (can anyone say Tasha Yar?)

thats all I can think of for now...more to come!

Just a question: Why does everyone hate STV: The Final Frontier??? I liked it.

Trek 5 is the reason I became a Star Trek fan. For some reason, I enjoyed Trek 5 when I saw it in the movies. And I became a fan, and have been having fun ever since.

::everyone stares again:: What?! ^_^

Back on Topic - I would do away with the "Finding Data" plot line carried over to the Next Gen. films. It was done already in the series - Data finding Lore, finding his father Singh, the emotion chip, and Data finding ways to grow and learn as an Android. In "Times Arrow, Data's head is found, etc.

Case in point - Nemesis. I could not get over the fact that thier we were again, as an audience, watching Worf, Picard, and Data picking up android body parts strewn across a planet. It's "find Data" again. And then, Data is supposedly killed off at the end. Well, that IS one way to stop the finding Data. Unless the next film is "The Search For Data" in which B4 will then begin to grow and learn, and we can have more finding of Data.

This is not personal against the character of Data. Solid character. I just always felt the "Finding Data" storyline was driven into the ground with the films and should have stayed back in the series.
