Ramblings...

Subject: Ramblings...

Date: Sun, Jul 21, 1996 12:24 AM

From: ErinnaM

A cat on the bridge.  She had heard of Captain's having odd proclivities but this one certainly took the proverbial cake.  Having reviewed Krystal's records, Erinna was well aware of the new Captain's abilities.  She did not have any problem with them as such.  She was also aware of the Captain's "classified" Intelligence missions since she had been in command at the time of the assignment.  What she had not known about was her entourage.  Kraf was going to love this one when he returned.  She couldn't

wait to see his face!

Having a few free hours, she decided to return to her quarters.  As Destiny was getting older, Erinna was no longer tied to the child's feeding schedule.  This was something which Erinna had not anticipated and which she was quite glad was over.  She now had time for other matters not least of which included several extra visits to the ship's pool.  Her figure was beginning to return to normal.

She checked her messages and found another one from Orion.  She knew what it would say.  After Galadriel's treatment of her and her shipmates, she had no desire to answer this message.  And Galadriel had made quite certain that Erinna would never forget the incident; the bracelets made that impossible.  She had taken to wearing long sleeves under which they were not so noticeable.  No, she would not take her child to the Confederation and show her to her grandfather.  She would make certain that Destiny

would never know that man and would never be subjected to any of his cruel pleasures.  Perhaps after he was dead, Erinna would tell her about her grandfather; but only after he could have no part in her life nor harm her in any way.

She quickly read through the rest of the messages.  She sent short replies to all but one.  She sat down on the couch to think about it first.  It was most unusual.  She had received many requests to attend conferences.  She had even received a few requests to deliver a paper.  But a conference composed almost exclusively of Ferengi?  This was almost too much to even consider.  And a Trade Show at that!  What would they be doing; auctioning off their goods to the highest bidder?  No, she would have to

think about lending this conference any credence by her presence.

She needed to lay down for awhile.  There was nothing pressing and the ship would continue with or without her.
