CHALLENGER NX-05

 

 

BEGIN---

 

Where are we? This is a strange place; this Challenger is almost identical to our own, save a few things. For one, the sickbay, where I was waiting on Will (Daryus) looked more like a torture room than a place of healing, and then there was this booth, that did not look to friendly either.

This Log begins in Sickbay, I stood in the back listening to Will talk to Moose about stuff, like where we are and what type of ship this is, you know standard Commanding Officer Engineer talk. Normally they go, what’s wrong with it and have it fixed in less than ten minutes, cause then we make a big fireworks show in space.

Anyways, Moose wanted answers and he wanted them five minutes ago, so to say we were a bit behind schedule. We left Sickbay after Will gave some google eyes to… you guessed it. Anyways there we were walking, and I was thinking that we just might be over our heads in this one, and we’ve been in tough situations, and they seemed like kids stuff compared to this. We have to destroy the Defiant a ship from the future. But first we had to learn about this ISS Challenger.

Will seemed to be just as concerned about the whole situation as I was, but he has a better way of hiding it. So I asked him what we were going to do. He gave me an answer that I really wasn’t looking for. He gave me orders, oh joy I get to look at the guns on this baby.

Well we got to Engineering, and Will and I were joking around as usual while I was working. I’ve noticed something about the new Engineers that I never did before, when they’re working, they have no room for humor. To bad, because I spent thirty minutes trying to get Lazarus to crack a smile, but he never did.

I learned something interesting about this Challenger, it was armed to the teeth, it would rip the NX Challenger to shreds, and that just tells you that our counterparts don’t see much use in peace in fact their almost savage like. No matter how much weaponry this little ship has though it won’t last long against the Defiant.

Alright Will and I broke the laugh hour when I went to work on the force field thing. I was working trying to understand how it worked and if we could make one of our own. I was working for quite a while when Lazarus came and asked how we were doing. We began to test the force field. Or rather I had worries of the force field blowing up the ship, but he was very insistent on it, I should have used my authority on the assignment and said no, to turning it on.

We went ahead and tested it out; it was a little slow due to the fact that we had no idea what we were doing. But it seemed to be working, which was quite a relief. These force field things would work really well in our regular universe, if we make it back I must build some. Next plan, create some shielding using this stuff.
