Music, slightly different detail

I like to do this from time to time as I look to expand my own library:

1. What is your all time favorite CD?

2. What is your all time favorite song?

(No long lists for this one - leave that to the previous thread).

Oops, here's mine:

1. Rosalyn Turek playing the Bach Goldberg Variations. Accept no substitutions! Turek Goldberg Variations Listen to it ten times and then tell me your life has not changed.

2. Different any time you'd ask. Currently I like a little tango by Loreeena McKennitt, but I hate everything else she does. Just pirate the one song "Tango to Evora" and save your money.

1. Soir de Première by Luce Dufault (more because of the memories I associate with it, I think)

2. depends on my mood...right now...erm...undecided between Don't Speak (No Doubt), White Flag (Dido) and Nothing compares to you (Sinead O'Connor)

1. Jeez, that's a hard one. Probably the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Musical Soundtrack. I LOVE that thing.

2. It's always different. Right now it's "Every Little Thing" by Dishwalla.

1. I am gonna have to go with U2's, All that You Can't Leave Behind (that cd got me through a lot of hard times) and the soundtrack to the tv show Scrubs (awesome collection of randomness)

2. I think "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service and "You Can't always get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones

All time favorate CD: "KISS", "You Wanted The Best, Greatest Hits."

I've been a tried and true KISS fan since 1974, from the first alblum.

All time favorate song: "Freebird" by Lynard Skynard

It's always been kind of a theme song for me in the past.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ADDITION: Favorate song that is stuck in my head in a good way.

Gwen Stephani's "Holla Back Girl" :P

I was in high school and college drum lines and love the percussion in the song.

Zaphod,

"You will be assimilated, meow."

I think my favorite CD is probably "Collide" by Skillet... "Before Everything And After" by MxPx coming in at a close second...

As for favorite song, right now it's a tie between "High 5" by Calibretto 13, "Dead by Dawn" by Showbread (stuck in my head today, dreadful song  ...), and the Homestar Runner Theme Song...

Best Album: either "Disintegration" by The Cure or "The Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails.

Best Song: either "Without Me" by Eminem or "The Bad Touch" by Bloodhound Gang.

And yes I know, my songs are almost a completely different music type than my albums, so what?

Straight outta Compton is by far the best rap album ever! I don't like rap but I like N.W.A that's true blue classic gangsta.

This was a hard one until last night.

CD: "Phantom of the Opera" 2004 Motion Picture Soundtrack

Song: "Point of No Return"

I don't care if others like the original cast recording better. This is by far my favorite. I could loop this CD and listen to it all day.

1. Hmm, probably Jewel's Spirit album.

2. This one is way tougher, I'll go with Time of Your Life by Green Day. Not the most amazing song, but who doesn't know it, and its the song of my generation, had that played at every special event possible, so it holds a lot of memories.

Something unpredictable, but in the end it's right. I hope you have the time of your life.

That one, Ron?
