Hey there,

Strongly disagree. Flights into Orlando cost, on average, about the same as any going to Las Vegas. Orlando is acting as one of the most active airports in the United States at present. In regard to hotels, again, rates are comparable with Vegas or even less depending.

I'm with you Fred. Flights into Orlando International are cheaper than almost any other location around. On a regular basis (Not just a lucky stumble upon) I've found flights into Chicago, New York, and Washington DC for round trip, $120. You just need to know what airline to fly.

USA3000.com offers fairs (it's a low cost airline) round trip for that low price of $120. Just a matter of searching.

And then, you can find even cheaper fairs if you fly into Sanford, FL, which is like flying into Midway, Chicago instead of O'Hare, Chicago, or flying into Newark, NJ instead of JFK, New York.

Might?

::sigh:: We moved it for all the folks whining about Vegas, and now I've heard several people say, "Well, I *might* go now? If yer not going to go, then why all the complaining about where it was before?

Get yer butts down there!

::The Florida Committee goes wild, and commence to hide all the bags with $$ on them... not that they'd bribe anyone or anything...::

Woo-hoo! I so have to attend now... even though I'll just probably stay at home rather than the hotel. ;)

Florida is fantastic during the summer, and contrary to popular belief, we don't have big bugs down here. Now of course if it rains a lot, we may get a big mesquito season, but the last year was pretty calm, and next year should be the same. Just make sure to pack plenty of shorts and comfortable clothes, and you should be fine during the summer here. :P

Can't wait to see you guys! :P

Well, "Might" is better than "Not at all". Like any other ShoreLeave Ive attended, I cant say for sure because of work. But, if work allows (and/or real life), Ill be there for sure, since its not in Vegas. Hows that?

Hey fine,

As has been stated, this is a personal vacation that some of us have been taking together for well over 10 years. Heck, I was going with another group before hooking up with some of these folks. This event is NOT sponsered by STSF, so thanking A9 for moving it, is not really how it happened. We have a group of people that like to vacation together. We've graciously invited folks to come along and meet us for a meal or other activities. We are not your entertainment committee.

So, when it comes down to "How's that?", we put up with this for this year to keep the whiners happy, then next year we take a decent vacation again.

Vegas decent? ::chuckles:: Hey, if you want to go to Vegas Blu, go to Vegas. No one is making you go to Orlando, just like no one made me go to Nevada. I mean, good grief, now who's "whining"?

This coming from the wallflower, that showed up once? How could you even possibly make judgement on how enjoyable our vacation was last year, when you weren't even there? Can't knock it if you weren't there man.

I wasnt commenting as to your vacation, I was commenting about Vegas. You cant do anything there without draining your wallet. I know, Ive been there. If you were referring to the bar scene or having a good time with friends, heck you can do that anywhere. There are plenty of inexpensive shows and events in other less expensive towns that can be just as enjoyable. Why is Vegas always the first place people think about when they wonder where to go to have a good time?

Well, I plan on having a decent vacation in Orlando, thankyouverymuch! More than decent, actually.

Since some folks can't play nice, I'll have to take away the sandbox. This thread is now closed. I will post something again when we have a specific hotel/resort selected. Thanks for playing.
