I don't know, I was just thinking about it. It'd pick up a lot of the clutter, since all the recent threads have been new cadets announcing their reign of terror and what not. I figured that it would help people sort through the mess, in order to find questions about the game, and other technical stuff...

I just use the "view new posts" option every time I log in, keeps it nice and clear. And there's always the "search" option when you want to look for posts. Problem with a Sticky thread is that Sticky threads aren't always given immediate attention by posters, and every time a player comes along and starts a new "Hi" thread you'd get a lot of "read the Sticky's!" which we don't need. :P

It's not a bad idea. I know lots of forums that have that kind of thread, but as Moore said.. lots of people don't notice it and post Intro threads of they're own, so that kind of defeats the purpose. :P

I personally love the idea. I think it would be great, but it would mean extra work for the mods (admin? GMs? whatever it is), because they would probably want to lock "Hi!" threads and direct the people to the sticky thread. And I'd hate to make them go through that.

I just don't see how people could miss one. Our stickies are right at the top of the thread list, and since we have only two others in the questions and comments thread, it wouldn't be hard to see.

 

And, I have to think people do read the rules, otherwise people would be posting hello threads here in the Trek discussion board...
