Margaux set down the PADD, her mind unable to focus on the words.  It was one of her favorite books, she had read it many times, but lately shouldn't found that she couldn't lose herself in the story.  She was restless, eager to be released from sickbay.  While the care was excellent, the day in and day out of lying on a bed was beginning to test even her gracious southern manners.

 

      She was relieved that Dr. Farrington had not pressed her for more information about her cranial implant.  For years she had no memory of the implant, but now ... she closed her eyes, letting her head rest wearily against the pillow.  Now she remembered all of it.  When it was done, why it was done, what it was to be used for and who had authorized the proceedure.  "Megan, " she said silently to herself.  "My name used to be Megan." The name sounded foreign to her now.  "I knew the reprogramming of the implant would cause a mental block, but never ... ever ... did I allow myself to hope that it would be so complete.  I did everything I could to avoid coming to Tibus VI, and after all this time," Marguax sat up feeling a renewed sense of frustratiion, "I'm right where he wanted me to be."  She picked up her water glass and hurled it at the wall.
