Geeks rule...its official

Okay its official, Trek geeks shall one day rule this tiny planet. To prove this I name just a few famous COOL people who are complete Trek geeks. Add your own and soon these weak mortals shall know the truth!

A few to start with (and cos I'm a film buff I'll just use film people)

Quentin Tarantino

"Revenge is a dish best served cold - Old Klingon proverb"

-Kill Bill

Matt Stone and Trey Parker

"Qapla!"

- Team America

Bryan Singer

"kobayashi!"

- The usual suspects

Each of these men has many more examples buuuuuuuut meh, I'm too lazy. List all the famous nerds we can and then one day we can have our revenge.

...This was written at around 5 am, my brain IS about the same as cottage cheese right now.

Well... another for Tarantino is that in Kill Bill, when Uma Thurman's doing a voiceover, and introducing O-Ren and her people, she says something like, "And see that woman to O-ren's left who's dressed like a villain from star trek?"

yeah...

and I'm told that Matt Greoning (producer of the simpsons, and some other good cartoons) is also a Trekkie. Which is why he made Comic Book Guy in the Simpsons a trekkie. Like the one time when CBG is downloading a pornographic picture of Janeway... or the one time when he's surfing, and he sees something and says, "Men? Maybe it's time to go where no man has gone before.."...

XD or the one time when he gets kicked out of Moe's Tavern, and says, "Is there a word in Klingon for lonliness?" and then he looks in a dictionary for it...

and there are many others.. but i'm too lazy to put them all down XD

Ooh and remember that futurama episode? Pure class.

Nichelle Nichols: "And so the Trekkies were executed in the mannor most befitting virgins."

Fan 1: "whooo"

Officer: "He is dead Jim."

Fan 2: "warrrr"

Officer: "He is dead Jim."

Fan 3: "uahhhh"

Officer: "He is dead Jim."

The Simspons and Star Trek references...they just go hand in hand.

The episode where Homer goes to college and befriends a group of geeks.

GEEK#1: “Someone at M.I.T is sending us a list of reasons why Captain Picard is better than Captain Kirk.”

GEEK#2: “Yeah right, as if...”

In the episode “Homer and the Monorail,”

Leonard Nimoy is boring his fellow monorail passengers to death with his stories about his time on 'Star Trek'. At the end of the episode, when the danger is over and everyone is saved, Nimoy smiles to himself and states that his work here is done. He is then confronted by Barney who says Nimoy did not do anything.

NIMOY: “Didn’t I?” And at that point Nimoy is beamed up.

One of my favorites, though I can't recall the name of the episode

There's a trailer for the film, Star Trek XII: So Very Tired. An extremely old Kirk sighed in resignation as he hears the ship is being attacked by Klingons.

Kirk (sigh): "Again with the Klingons. Scotty, I need more power."

Scotty (extremely fat and trying to get his hands to reach past his gut): "It's no good, Captain. I kinna reach the controls!"

......................

I love the Simspons, Futurama, and Family Guy for the various references they make like these.

Shatner: Beam me up God!

Genius.

Now THAT would be interesting.

Spock and Bones at the Vampire nightclub in "From Dusk Till Dawn" dealing with Picard and his Vampiric crew. ;)

It is neat how all of these people mentioned, who are now successful with their own projects, find the time to honor Star Trek in some way because they like it.

Ironically, when the Las Vegas monorail was built Star Trek: The Experience was one of the major advertisers for it. They painted the outside of one of the cars to advertise the (at the time) new Borg 4-D ride.

Also ironically the Shore Leave West gang were among the first riders of the new monorail system.

I'm watching Family Guy right now ...

There's some nerdy guy who like Meg and was arguing with his teacher over whether Kirk or Picard is better. It's hilarious, but I couldn't catch any exact quotes, so I'll leave you with this one instead:

Peter: Sorry Meg. Daddy loves ya, but Daddy also loves Star Trek, and in all fairness, Star Trek was here first.

New one. Kevin Smith, comic book master and director of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Agreed he's waaaaaaaaay more of a Star Wars fan he has shown the occasional homage to trekkie-ness, usually they're a lil more obscure. Got this randomly from IMDB. I'd search for more but what can I say, I'm lazy!

The canyon setting for the diner scene is the same location used for the filming of many episodes of "Star Trek" (1966), most notably the episode "Arena" where Kirk fights the Gorn, the giant green lizard. As a further homage to that episode, the diner in the scene has a sign over the door which identifies it as "The Arena Diner."

- Jay and Silent Bob Strike back

My sister's boyfriend quotes that all the time! He's not into Trek, so it's the only thing he ever has to add to any Star Trek conversation.

anyway, it's still hilarious!

I don't know if these people are considered "cool", but here goes.

The Dali Lama: he took his monks to visit the TNG set

Colin Powell: visited the TNG set with his entourage and the all-powerful Football. Just think what would have happened if nuclear war had broken out that day. The Bridge of the Enterprise would have been a command center!
