What other Sci-Fi do you watch?

I'll start things off:

*Andromeda : I LOVED season 1, enjoyed the first 5 episodes of season 2...and thought the show continued down-ward from there on out. I felt like SO much more could have been done w/the series. So much more..and so much better.

*Battlestar Galactica (Current Sci-Fi Channel series) : I had some serious doubts about the new ideas for Battlestar Galactica before it began. But, after watching the 1st season...all my doubts have vanished and I am really looking forward to season 2!

*Farscape : I really enjoyed F.S. up until about season 4, after which I felt everything was rushed due to its announced cancellation.

*Stargate SG-1 : I didnt care for SG at first, but found myself really enjoying it through seasons 3-4. Some of season 5 was okay, but..feel like it has gone down-hill since. I'll watch an episode here and there thats good, but over-all I think seasons 6,7 & 8 were terrible. I have high hopes for the upcoming season and the changes that are being made!

*Stargate Atlantis : I like the idea, but really havent liked the show. I hope they do more w/it in the coming season.

*Babylon 5 : I really enjoyed most of Babylon 5. Especially from season 2 on...

Stargate SG-1: I could not get into SG-1 for the longest time. Then I sat down and made myself watch 5 or 6 episodes after I heard so much about the show. Now I can't stop watching it. It's become almost as much of an obsession as ST...note I said almost ;) I still like the show, but I don't think Anderson IS the show, and since he's gone, it will just drown. I believe he brought viewers with him when the show started, but I think the other actors can now hold their own with the show. At least I hope so. We'll see what happens.

The 4400: I just like it. It's unique compared to some of the other shows on television.

Dead Zone: Loved it at first, though it has grown a bit stale as of late. I've heard rumors that the fourth season that's about to start is going to be the last.

It's interesting to me that the last two have crew that has worked with various Star Trek series (Behr on the 4400 and Michael Piller on the Dead Zone).

Anything else that I watch that's even remotely related to scifi is usually in movies.

Honestly, I don't really watch any other sci-fi shows. Oh wait, Dead Zone counts? Yeah, I suppose it would. Okay, I've caught a couple episodes of the Dead Zone. I was so disturbed to realize it was Ezri on the show.

For some reason I don't enjoy watching sci-fi by myself, unless it's Trek. Actually I used to beg my brother to change the channel when he was watching TNG reruns until I finally realize what an amazing show it was. I'm interested in Farscape; I've heard good things. I'm open to suggestions especially now that Enterprise is off the air.

Well I've fallen in love with Firefly recently and I've always had several soft spots for Dr. Who. Mmmmmm Tardis.

3rd Rock from the Sun on DVD July 2005!

Calling 3rd Rock science fiction is like calling "History of the World Part I" a documtary.

I don't have cable, and my only choice for sci fi is to watch ENT reruns or watch random episodes of SG-1 on Sunday evenings... ;)

I've always loved sci-fi, it was one thing my mother and I could bond on. ;P

Let's see, sci-fi shows I've watched and watch today:

Star Trek (all series) - Of course!

Star Wars (ALL) - Mwah.. I love it.

Stargate SG-1 - When I can actually catch episodes. It's not a consistant watching, but I try to.

Farscape - Again, like SG-1, when I can catch it.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I consider it partly sci-fi. I don't know what else to really label it under.

The Dead Zone - Awesome show, with my favorite geek! ;)

Babylon 5 - Pretty old school for me. I got into it when Sheridan became in charge.

That's all I can think of for the moment.

Hey there,

Well...

  • Stargate-SG1: - Been a fan of it ever since I was able to see it. Great show, though I am wondering about quality in the ninth season with Richard Dean Anderson taking a back seat.
  • Stargate: Atlantis - I was concerned here for awhile about this show but I've grown to like it. Due to some things will miss most of next season but....
  • Battlestar Galactica: - Outstanding "energy" within the show. I like the format their using and think the story is a heck of a lot more complex than the original series.

As far as former shows...

  • Space: Above & Beyond - I think this was one of the most realistic and best science fiction shows ever created. In a lot of respects, it's as if Ron D. Moore took this show's "feel" and appearance to use as the basis for the new Battlestar Galactica. Shame FOX cancelled it, but such is common for the genre.
  • Babylon 5 - Grew to like it and thought it was an interesting concept. Think the creator's lost his mind in the modern sense (and thinks too highly of himself) but...this was a great creation. Outstanding story telling.
  • Crusade - It's a shame TNT wouldn't allow this show to operate without corporate interference. The concept was great and the early episodes showed some promise...that was until TNT executives started demanding changes that made no sense. Probably a good thing it only lasted as long as it did.
  • Farscape - Thought it was a great show with a great concept. Went a bit too far into left field for awhile but came back strong towards the end. Loved the recent miniseries.
  • Andromeda - I watched the show a lot during it's first season and started to break away from there. It was an outstanding concept but the application took a serious turn for the worse. I honestly didn't think you could do bring together the "lost in space" type concept worse than what we saw in the first few seasons of Voyager. This made me retract that statement. The show went so far into left field, it was out of the ballpark and down the street near the dump. Probably should be cancelled two or three years ago, but it's good that this was it's final season (and the finale which I happened to see made as much sense as the last few seasons)

Does the Star Wars series count? Maybe the cartoon mini-series, if it 's only TV. Otherwise, no.. Star Trek is the only sci-fi series I watch.

V: This was a mini-series and short lived TV series in the 80's. First time I was really *into* something Sci Fi.

Battlestar Galactica (new series): I did enjoy this debut. The Baltar/Number Six saga is getting old however (driving into the ground comes to mind.) I would like to see more action/toaster head cylons/ and pilot-fighter craft battles. I love the drama of the show, but sometimes it is a bit heavy. The old BSG is not half bad btw.

I never got into B5, Andromeda, or Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis. Not getting into Stargate surprises me because the shows really look as if they are up my alley (my Dad loves SG). Should I just sit down and *REALLY* watch a few eps as others have said they did? I think that Atllantis may be more to my liking.

Buffy and Angel: I watched both these shows sporadically when they were airing.

Xena Warrior Princess (sci fi?): I admit, I got a charge out of this show. The last season I did lose interest/ didn't have time to watch / forgot to set the VCR.

Star Wars: I enjoy Star Wars.

Aliens and Predator: My fav is the Predator. I have seen all of the films for both franchises.

**looks at list** I think it's safe to say no other show will ever replace *my* Star Trek. ;)

I haven't watched Atlantis yet.

I too did not like Stargate SG-1 until I sat down and forced myself to watch the whole first season in order. About halfway through, it really started growing on me. Now I love it.

I'm not saying it would work for everyone, but I was also surprised at first that I couldn't get into it. I loved the movie and the show idea itself.

Rumor has it NBC is working on a 3rd V miniseries. It takes place 20 years after V: The Final Battle. I don't know if it treats the poorly done 1984-5 V: The Series as canon or not.

Personally I consider the TV series to be about as canon as the 2nd Highlander movie. Best left forgotton about.

I hope those rumors are true. The original V miniseries was excellent. The tv series could've been done much better. The problem was the writers. Same thing that happened to Battlestar Galactica 1980, great idea poor handling.

As for my other all time favorate sci fi tv....

Star Trek, of course (all series, including TAS)

Battlestar Galactica (new and old on Sci Fi)

Kolchak the Nightstalker (still watch it on Sci Fi channel)

The Clonewars cartoons on Cartoon Network (very well done)

The Taken miniseries (on Sci Fi)

Lexx (yea, it's goofy)

Farscape (love the living starship)

Dr. Who (from BBC)

Blakes 7 (from BBC)

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy miniseries (from BBC, 1981)

Red Dwarf (Great Sci Fi comedy)

U.F.O (from the late 60's, early 70's)

Thunderbirds (puppet animated series from the late 60's early 70's)

Project UFO (a short lived series from the early 70's, pre X Files kinda thing)

Space Battleship Yamato (great Japaname series)

Futurama (very funny cartoon sci fi comedy)
