As a long-time X-Men fan, I thought the 1st two films were great. As such, I am REALLY looking forward to the 3rd installment. If the film plays true to the comic, than we should see Jean return as the Pheonix entity(as the closing of 2 suggested).

Naah man, the actress playing jean has probably been blacklisted due to her move to the superman camp. Though who knows these things change on nearly a day to day basis! Last I heard they were gonna do something with white queen.

Of course she doesn't die, that's the way the story is supposed to be from the comics and cartoons...

However, they may do it differently but if you watch the end of the film again you'll see that during that voice over the camera pans across the water and you see the reflection of the "Phoenix" in the water...

SO NO she won't die... I'm pretty sure they'll do the story right.

Nah, I doubt that either. At the end of X-2, it was pretty obvious Jean Grey will come back as the Phoenix. We might also see other characters from the X-Men cartoon such as Jubilee.

lol, I call him Gandalf too even if it's not LOTR. It's not X-Men, it's the battle between Picard and Gandalf! Anyway, I'm glad someone else calls him that.

Two words: Hugh and Jackman. MRRROOOWWWLLL GRRRRRRRR What a Hottie! ;)

**relapse** lol

I really enjoyed the 1st and 2nd X-Men films, just thought they were really well done. Plus the fact, it helps that Wolverine had some good parts also. The Canuck (In all his incarnations) rocks! Love them claws. :D

Meh, I wanna see Apocolypse, and the whole time travel arc, and the true Pheonix saga, with Cyclops father in space and such.

Thats the problem with comic book movies, theres just too much stuff.

I'm still pissed that I'm never gonna get to see Venom and Carnage on spiderman.

Im still hoping they bring them all together for one uber movies, ala the secret wars.

Tethra, if you watch in the second one it shows the Good Doctor (Beast) in his human form on TV giving an interview about his book on Mutants... I thought that was a cool lead in for the character just letting the fans know that he's not been forgotten...

As for Apocalypse and time-travel...I'm SOOOOO sick of time-travel personally... However Travis is right that is the TRUE storyline and it IS unfortunate they haven't followed it... I think that if they weren't going to go through with it they shouldn't have had The Phoenix at ALL...

And the finale of my ranting for the day on X-Men is that I'm ready to see SENTINELS and the actual war that they forge on the Mutants... Not to mention Graydon Creed, I'm ready to see him as well.

As someone who is both a movie geek, and gets bombarded by information at work, I can tell you this, as confirmed by the brains behind every Marvel film, Producer Avi Arad:

-Director Bryan Singer has jumped ship, leaving X3 for "creative purposes" to direct... Superman Returns, slated for May 2006 release, for Warner Brothers. This has resulted into what seems like a war between Superman Returns (WB) and X-Men 3 (20th Century Fox). Who will be on top?? Guess we'll have to wait and see. :P

-Singer took with him James Marsden (aka Cyclops) to play a supporting role in Superman Returns. He was in talks with Famke Janssen to possibly cast her in Superman Returns, but that fell through the cracks and she will be returning in X3 as the Phoenix, more than likely as the Dark Phoenix as fans (And myself) believe, but Arad has been mum on the plot.

-Mardsen will apparently be in the film, playing a small role hopefully, if his Superman/X-Men schedule can work out.

-Matthew Vaughn was slated to direct X3, but quit for "personal reasons", so X3 will be directed by Brett Ratner, director of the Rush Hour films and Red Dragon.

-It has been said that two major characters WILL die in the film, as to who it is, no word yet (This isn't coming from Arad, but someone close to the film). Another X-Men, a minor one of course, is also apparently going to die. Whether or not this is the script that was finally agreed on by Arad and Ratner remains to be seen.

-In casting news; Beast will be in the next X-Film and he will be played by none other than... Kelsey Grammer. ;) Shocking I know. Apparently he will be placed in "make-up and prostheses. It will be a combination of artforms to bring it to life, but a lot of it will maintain around his face – his eyes, his mouth, and so on. It will be very much like the kind of stuff we did with The Thing" as Arad said. Interesting to see how this will work.

-Kitty Pryde, Gambit, Angel, and Colossus are confirmed as being in the next film. If they'll play a major role in the film remains to be seen. Casting is continuing on for these roles, except for Kitty Pryde, who was recently given to "Lost" star Maggie Grace.

-Most of the cast is confirmed as coming back to X3, with the exlusion of Halle Berry, who has not agreed yet to return to X3.

-The ony confirmed Villian that will appear in the next film is Juggernaut, played by Englishman Vinnie Jones

-X-Men is slated to start filming in August, with a release of Memorial Day weekend, 2006, to keep up with it's major rival "Superman Returns". Many people are skeptical about this, but Marvel and 20th Century Fox swear it will be released on time.

As that the news up to now. Keep those eyes peeled, as I'm sure more news will be sure to come. :)

::Knows way too much about all this for his own good... ::

EDIT: Concerning the Dark Phoenix part, Arad has stated that the Phoenix will play a major part in X3, but that the whole focus will not be on this story, but several, focusing on all the X-Men. I dunno how Marvel/Fox plans on doing on that, but I guess it'll all be up to Ratner.

Okay, from what I hear there will no gambit in any of the films, Jubilee plays a major role in the third one, and Magneto gains control of the Pheonix and uses her against the X-MEN. People die cities get destroyed and Magneto looses control, and she turns into a wild dog with large amounts of Rabies. The only one who can stop is Scott because of the Love between them. I am the Ultimate X-Men Geek and that was the plan from the very beggining.
