Shrimp

I was eating fettucini with chicken, shrimp, and sauteed mushrooms in a white winbe sauce tonight and realised something.

Whenever you have a pasta dish with shrimp they always leave the tails on the shrimp.

Why is that? And why am I asking a Star Trek group for the answer?

I've no clue why some chefs do that, or why there are some things that can't be explained or changed because it "just is" ... :P Or very possibly because the chefs are just pure lazy B)

As for asking us? Probably because in best regards to the forum comunity here, talking and chatting here is of same equality of chatting with yer bud over the phone? Just that you only need to mention it once and get several answers versus needing mention it each time you want a different answer ;)

Not taking into account the religious significance of shrimp tails on less-advanced planets, galectic chefs leave the tails on for two time-worn reasons:

1) It makes the shrimp appear larger, therefore making the restaraunt seem more generous.

2) It alerts those with shellfish allergies that they should stay away from the small, good-tasting unidentifiable white stuff.

Always serve crisp white wine with shrimp dishes. My favorite is Soave Bolia. It's a good thing.

I think they leave the tails on the shrimp, so it's easier to peel the skin off (Provided its still peeled),, otherwise if it's fried, it's probably so you can hold it better.

The white wine sauce is affecting you. Which is no doubt why you spelt wine itself wrong...

Trust me. White wine sauce will not affect me as long as the restaurant has Guinness.

They knew it was you so they left the tails on the shrimp to annoy you. Everyone else was served "de-tailed" shrimp. ;)

The real question is why do we cut the heads off?

1. Because they are ugly, and;

2. Because you only suck crawfish heads, not shirmp heads.

Yeah, that and

3. You won't get that nasty shrimp brains on your fingers when your try to pull of the shrimp head to peel it.

I had a big bucket of shrimp last night for dinner.

I had the restaurant cut the tails off and leave the heads on. ^_^
