If you had to make one book canon...

If you had to make one book canon to the Trek universe, what would it be? For me, it would be "Crossover" by Michael Jan Friedman. To me, this was the best novelization of TNG ever written if not the best in the Trek universe. (Although Dreams of the Raven and The Rift rank up there as well.)

I don't really feel like I should answer this, since I don't really read Star Trek books. The only ones I've read are the Q three book series involving Zero, and the galatic barrier, and I, Q which was written by Mr. Q himself, whom I cant think of the name...

Star Trek "Federations" , written by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens... Its an alternative cross-over from ST:VI to ST:TNG movies as was 'Generations' ....

However, Federations is soo much better quality story-wise. I'd have to say it ranks up there with ST:II Wrath of Kahn and ST:VI The Undiscovered Province (two of my favs anyways) Hmmm, I ought to dig it out and read it again sometime ;)

side note - Federations is also a good lead-in to Shatner's own limited serries of books (co-written by Judith & Garfield). They're also fairly good reads too, especially if you like the good ol' captain James T Kirk. The books also prominantly feature the Mirror Universe, dealings with the borg, and as always, Kirk beating the odds.

John DeLancie?

i was seriously considering getting a Trek book, but that never happened. so i am writing a Trek-ish one for my Language Arts project. how exciting.

i think i would want to read one of the movies in book form. i think it would be neat to see how a movie is portrayed in written word. Is that totally off topic?

That's so hard. Maybe Dark Mirror? I have to admit, I prefer Trek books that are less serious and slightly ridiculous. I'm thinking of Balance of Power (the auction) and Q-in-Law. They would be horrible for canon, however.

I think Imzadi might be a good choice as well. It seemed to fit in with everything pretty well, and was surprisingly tolerable for someone who doesn't really like Riker or Deanna that much.

Okay, so I honestly have no idea what I would pick. I'm not sure why I'm even posting here. ;)
