Poser , using the victoria 3.0 models, some hair style, and the rest being purely freeebie made ST items, textures, and props and facial morphs (like the bajoran & klingon nose/forehead features)

just realized, i need to re-do the bajoran nose ridges. adjusted the klingon forhead stuff and those sorta muted out the nose part ;)

Hey there,

Welcome to the forum! Just a word of caution about your character. Keep in mind that depending on what sim you join, each has it's own "guidelines" as far as what is and isn't appropriate. Don't back yourself into a corner where you have created this great character, only to have to make drastic changes because of the sim's requirements. ;)

Well I like the redhead one.

Nice job with the anatomical-correctness too. ;)

Thx Dumbass! ;) (lol, thats definately a choice name if i ever saw one. it feels funny adressing you without thinking i'm insulting someone :D ) can easily swap hair-do's , its otherwise the same character. As they say "its only cosmetics"

Thats definately good hindsight FredM :P Well, part of the fun is the process of fidling around with the modeling program. Lots of it is cosmetics, being able to modify a stock human into klingon, vulcan/romulan, bajoran or possibly a few other humanoid choices. I could have sworn I've seen some feline adjusters also.

Only thing would require the major re-write is the character's background. For this character in particular, i've not even begun writing it.

In the last few years of SW rpg'ing, i've collected a small portfolio of character ideas and even written backgrounds that i've made and not used. Its a nice little stash to have handy, ready made characters or npc's. When I'm bored, i'll entertain my imagination, whip up a character. Sometimes i'll get a neat idea, further develop it into a character

Either way, i'm not too worried. Unlike conventinal filing cabinets, the portfolio on my hd is practically bottomless. And i've no shortage in creativity. Thats why I love rpg'ing - its a never ending frontier awaiting to be explored, and its always flexing my creativity muscles B)

Btw, from participating in my first academy sim on saturday night, as well as partaking in the Redstar lounge (was an awesome ring-fight too!) precursor to the academy sim... I'm really enjoying it! keeping up with the fast going action (once again, kind props to Joe Manning for the sideline hints/helpers refreshing my memory for the few command protocols i had seemingly forgotten at the start), I also had music playing in the background, eyes glued between screen and keyboard, while my mind's eye was picturing it all happening :) I didn't realize 2 hours had passed by that quickly!

Btw2 Kansas_Jones, is that blade a TikLeth or a Mekleth? where ever i downloaded that prop from, its labeled as "Mekleth". Just a wee bit confused which is correct. I do know what a Batleth is, no mistaking that one!

::rolls out the Rihan Aefvadh mat::

Jolan tru i Aefvadh (Hello and Welcome) to the Star Trek Simulation Forum.

The Rihannsu Saeihr Nneikha bids au well, I hope to see au around the Retors (Academies).

Be sure to check out some of the non-lloann'na (Federation) games here at STSF like the RES Talon and IKC QoB/Lakota, I believe that STSF BluRox runs a Rihannsu Retor (Academy) on every other Monday. We won't bite...well the Kll'inghannsu might. (but that is a matting ritual for the Fvai )

----

And as Fredrica said, remember that whilest in the Academy system, IMO it;s more important to concentrate on the simming part than the charcter part. For two reasons, in Acadmies players are usually supposed to play as humans (it is easier for beginers to learn the ropes this way) and number two for the same reason Fred said earlier, different GM-teams have different rules on what they will allow character wise. :P Just something to thinks about ;)

Anyway, bedah new Erdeh (Cadet).

Welcome to STSF! I hope you've enjoyed the time you've spent here so far. This can quickly become an obsession ^_^ Hope to see you whenever I can actually show up for another Academy!

Nice pic...I love the face and hair. Very realistic.

Thx Taalix ^_^

I'd do a male pic as well, but for this program, all the model face morphs are for the females. can't find any for the males. Poser & sims 2 body shop are alike in some aspect that both use 3d models and skin textures, being able to customize the face & such via sliders or dials. These ST face 'morphs' i'm using have been made by someone and require the female model. I even got a set of vulcan ears from a T'pol morph kit.

If anyone's been wondering where i've been these past few days, and not in the academies... Been getting the soil ready for flowers and garden plants, then planted them. Then watering in the evenings. Still have to trim some of the shrub type plants, and some tree branches. I'll be back shortly though :P I'm missing simming already! Bummer, dunno if i'll be able to catch STSF Laura's academy tonight, hers are the most fun :D

In other news, just installed another stick of memory since prices are at an all time low. Effectively doubled my memory capacity :) Will be good, to enable shorter 3d render wait times when working on the model shown above. I too have to get back to finishing it ;) First thing on the list is to add back in that Bajoran nose ridges ;)

Also been tinkering with html code, getting a little layout ready for a padd lcars style web page for a character bio. sofar its a blank template in design. theres a few lcars web page theme kits around for free, which i've nabbed. though its taking a bit of custom code & designing to get it the way i want. Hmm, do i toss it up on my tiger.jadesfire or rpg1.jadesfire sites or make a new stsf.jadesfire for it?

Just checking in... So ya all know I didnt get lost in a holodeck program or transporter malfunction of sorts :D

the praries out here have been going through some hot mid-day temps of 30degC, rendering the computer useless as a space heater contributing to the heat. Usually dosn't cool down here til well past sundown. Might have to move the computer downstairs or find a way to keep this small house cooler- 3 ceiling fans just arnt helping any. Argh. Wheres those starfleet engineers when ya really need'em eh? :P

Lucky today's cloudy and cool.

might have to move the computer downstairs but lack of any tables or stands down their is gonna prove interesting.

Else, I wonder if i can use my ol' p133mhz laptop. will have to see tonight if i can. it'll be small wonders for older slower technology if it can handle the java chat, as it barely produces any heat- well, miniscule like a cup of tea compared to a stove like this monolithic 21" towercase is. Guess we'll find out possibly tonight.

On a happier note, managed to get a steal of a deal at walmart - they had their summer load of dvd specials going. I managed to complete my TOS dvd movie serries, and grabbed eps IV, V & VI - the silver borderd collecters widescreen 2 disk edition set, for $12.50 (canadian) each. each are for for 4hrs entertainment, 1st watch, then second with audio commentary then the bonus content. I've yet to grab the rest as they are released in the same style set.
