Koga frowned as he received the hail from the Firestorm. "Elements.. over 5000 people y'yyaed like that in just a few seconds" he said to himself quietly. Naturally, this concerned him very deeply. Just back from his mission with Vosh to retrive the flight recorder from the destoryed scout ship, he was waiting on the Engineers to analyse the recording and see if there was anything in there of use to them.

 

With t'Rex in the VIP area where somone had just tried to y'ya his father (something else he was really concerned about hearing, but happily he seems to be fine), along with most of the senior staff, Koga had to wait until one of them got back up for him to pass the new message from the terrorists. (Comm-traffic between them seemed to have been busy, numerous attempts contacting them via t'liss failed).

 

In the meantime, though the Talon entered scanning range of the area where Outpost 212 used to be. The distinctive tachyon signature from the EPSILON prototype was ever-present in the area. It was all over the place. "Hmm.." Koga said reflectively.

 

From his father, Koga knew that the tachyon emmissions EPSILON left was just one of the many flaws they still hadn't got out of the prototype. And.. he hoped that this was something he could exploit and use to his advatage. Koga moved to an unoccupied Science console (leaving OPS to a replacement officer), and began tweaking the scanners to try to get a trail from the tachyon emissions.

 

He hoped it would lead eventually lead them to the Firestorm. Working for the better part of a few hours, Koga finally had a prototype scanner he could possibly use to scan for the Firestorm. Initial testing worked, as he picked up a small trail heading well north of Outpost 212. He tapped out a text-message to the Command Staff to read later...

Enclosed are the specifications of a new prototype version of a high-intensity scanner/sensor that may be useful in locating the missing RES Firestorm and EPSILON Prototype.

 

Code named Neurological Data Analysation Kinetic Scanner Utilising Compressed Kenetic Synergy, or NDAK SUCKS, the scanner is able to detect the distinct tachyon emission trails (in combination to the standard exhaust trails of the Firestorm), utilising kinetic synergy.

 

(kinetic - relating to the motion of material bodies and the forces associated therewith; "kinetic energy"

 

synergy - The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects)

 

The kenetic synergy, refined to detect the signature has proven successful in initial tests, detecting the tachyon trail of the Firestorm which had just attacked and destroyed Outpost 212. With the NDAK SUCKS prototype, I could ascertain that the Firestorm was headed north of the attack sight. But, it is uncertain that the vessel is still in the area.

 

The prototype is still in developmental stages of course, but with assistance from Engineering and Science, I believe that the prototype could take advantage of EPSILON's weakness and locate the ship before it causes anymore damage.
