Assistant Science Officer, Ensign T'vin's personal log...

Stardate 0505.09

Deja vu? To have seen before. The images of the NCC-1742 E exploding (into fourteen trillion three hundred seventy two billion six million twenty thousand and eighty four pieces) will not leave my mind. There was no solace in meditation only the emptiness of loosing something irretrievable. Perhaps, what is the most unsettling, is my recurring dream of Sofer and T'rie (my birth parents) aboard the Arcadia. This transpositioning is dangerous as it points to a fear that my mental conditioning has not purged--that I am to end as they--in silence. For Sofer and T'rie had no event to transfer their Katra to the ancient Vulcan repository on Mount Seleya before their physical destruction. The termination of one's physical body is not to be feared, but in the case of intransferability of our (Vulcan's) katras, is there worry (however illogical) within me?

When I was a cadet the first time in the academy studying engineering, I came across records of the explosion that ... (slight pause) could have been prevented. I found myself in what my "host-brother" (Nimart's only son) calls a "reality check" with the truth about their deaths. Though I was not present at it’s actual ocurance… from that day in the file room, I have seen the image as if I had been. I need to control this fear before it controls me.
