I'm a mid level nerd. Mainly because while I do have many high lvl's of dorkiness and geekiness I keep offsetting it with my cool car, sharp clothes, and good house. :P

I have even seen breakfast foods designed specifically for people who fall into my category.

Nerds Cereal

Come to think of it, the pudgy one does look familiar.

Nerd...am I one? I get up between 3 am and 5 am just to pretend for one hour to be someone else from the future...I let you judge. But whatever one might think about this I always have fun and I did never regret getting up. So if I'm a nerd I'm having a good time being one.

I like being able to talk to and hang out with whoever I please because I've learned that every single group has their pros and cons. My main group of friends is an odd assortment

Well, of course I'm a nerd, lol. Duh. And proud of it! Like Lunn, I like to do a lot of different things, and hang with a lot of different people, and by God, if you're going to do something, do it for all it's worth.

Hm, perhaps that a glorified way of saying I have an obsessive personality? lol. Probably. But ain't life grand? I can help to run one of the top Star Trek forums on the internet, and it has nothing to do with any other area of my life, all of which I treat just as seriously (obsessively?). But I digress... We're talking about the Nerdish element not that other crap.

I have a full fledged Nerd BS from college. I had a PC and RPN calculator when only the fully-Nerded had them. I could completely disassemble and reassemble a mechanical pencil in under five minutes. I could calculate the insulation properties of a coffee cup and enjoy it. I played with Star Trek figures when they first came out. That was then. At this very moment today, I have a fake Enterprise hanging over my computer, a shuttle, a TOS calender (I'm looking around my home office as I type), a Voyager snow-globe. Does a lava lamp count? On my corkboard I have the rules for Tridimensional Chess, rosters for my sim ships, some glow in the dark planets, and a map of Vegas... There are glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. I've misplaced my blacklight, alas.

I have been and always will be a nerd.

It still takes you 5 minutes? What's wrong with you?

I'm a nerd, and I can change, if I have to. I guess.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ reference should keep the Canadians happy ;-)

Loami, I LOVE The Red/Green Show! It comes on KET here in Kentucky... hehe!

What a great show!

Anywho, yes, I am a nerd. Fine by me. ;)

I've met really scary biker guys who love Star Trek.

Don't know about the scary part. (No one had EVER been scared of me, I am sure) But I do have a bike, leather jacket and chaps, the whole nine yards. Even so, I'm not afraid to talk computers, Trek, religion, theater, music, Jeeps, or bikes with my friends.

I've never really cared what people thought of my hobbies, and now that I'm older, there is less pressure to "comform" to my peer's ideas of what is "in". For those of you who become ancient, like A9 and myself, you'll find the stigma of "nerd", "geek" or any other category in which people like to pigeon-hole us, doesn't really phase us. We just shake our canes at the young whipper-snappers, and tell them to mind their own beezwax! I was "being all I could be" long before it became a catchy Army slogan, and could care less whether anyone approves or disapproves. ;)
